Urgently find food and accommodation
In this merger, the cadres of Dak Nong province probably have the most concerns. In 2004, Dak Nong was separated from Dak Lak with hundreds of leaders and civil servants transferred from Buon Ma Thuot City to Gia Nghia District (the new capital of Dak Nong) to work in "field" agencies from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee to departments and branches. Now, they are preparing to leave for their missions in Lam Dong province.
"There are no specific statistics yet, but preliminary estimates show that the number of provincial officials working in Lam Dong after the merger is very large," an official in Dak Nong province informed.
In this situation, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has requested departments, branches and sectors to urgently and proactively coordinate with the corresponding units of Binh Thuan and Dak Nong to develop separate projects for each field. The contents need to be completed and sent to the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Home Affairs for appraisal and synthesis before April 22.
Meanwhile, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee reported to the Provincial Standing Committee on reviewing housing and preparing vehicles for more than 1,000 officials and civil servants (including 120 officials under the management of the Provincial Standing Committee) from Phu Yen to Buon Ma Thuot City (Dak Lak) to work after the merger.
According to the leaders of Dak Lak province, after reviewing, the province can arrange accommodation for 363 people from existing sources: Nguyen Du Street official residence and Provincial Party Committee guest house (118 people), collective housing, official residence managed by the Department of Construction and the Department of Finance (97 people), dormitory of the Faculty of Medicine, Tay Nguyen University (148 people).
For the remaining 637 cadres, the province plans to requisition additional dormitories from Dak Lak College and the provincial Military Command, accommodating about 379 people. After mobilization, there is still a lack of accommodation for about 258 people. The total estimated cost for renovating, repairing and equipping housing is about 85 billion VND, including: 38.9 billion VND for repairs, 37.5 billion VND for furniture purchases and 8.5 billion VND for project management and consulting.
The funding will come from the provincial budget in 2025, support from the central government and partly from voluntary contributions from staff. Repair and renovation works will be completed before July 2025 to stabilize accommodation for staff before the merger.

Put aside your feelings for the "common cause"
Mr. Pham Kim Quang - Director of Lam Dong Department of Education and Training informed that, implementing the policy of the Politburo and Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee on streamlining the apparatus and merging administrative units, the unit has proactively exchanged information with the Department of Education and Training of Dak Nong and Binh Thuan provinces to grasp the number of cadres, civil servants, employees and specialized departments and offices.
“We are urgently reviewing and grasping the number of cadres and civil servants affected by the merger to advise appropriately on task requirements. In the immediate future, we have determined that the number of cadres and civil servants in the industry will triple compared to the present,” Mr. Quang informed.
According to the Director of Lam Dong Department of Education and Training, the concerns and feelings of cadres, civil servants and public employees due to the merger are understandable and need to be encouraged and sympathized with. "Most of the cadres and civil servants have stable jobs and lives, and are familiar with their colleagues and agencies every day. Now that they have to leave, everyone is worried and regretful, which is very understandable," Mr. Quang expressed. However, according to Mr. Quang, determined for the common cause and for the development of the country as the General Secretary's spirit, in recent times, the Lam Dong Education sector has stepped up propaganda and ideological orientation for cadres and civil servants. Therefore, most of them are unanimous and ready to accept the task when they are transferred and assigned to a new workplace.
For the Dak Nong Education sector, it is understandable that the province's officials and civil servants have many concerns, because most of the teachers working at the Dak Nong Department of Education and Training have "brief resumes" transferred from the Dak Lak Education and Training sector.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu - Deputy Director of Dak Nong Department of Education and Training, although there is some anxiety when preparing to work in a new location about 200km away, most of the officials and civil servants of the Department of Education and Training determined to put aside personal feelings and be ready to go.
“Many officials and civil servants come from Dak Lak, where they have family, relatives, and neighbors. Before, when it was unclear, everyone wanted to rejoin Dak Lak. But when Resolution 60 was issued, we determined that despite the difficulties and hardships, we were still ready to accept the tasks assigned by the organization,” Ms. Thu said.
Like Ms. Thu, many officials at the Dak Nong Department of Education and Training expressed that even though their children are still young, they will arrange everything to carry out the tasks assigned by the organization.
“Both children are still young, but my wife and I have agreed that when the road to Lam Dong is not convenient, we will return home 2-3 times a month, and if there is work near home, we will visit my wife and children. I will ask my wife's family to help with the housework. Therefore, I feel secure to take on the new assignment,” an expert from the Dak Nong Department of Education and Training expressed his determination.
Upon receiving information that Phu Yen province would merge with Dak Lak province, Mr. Tran Khac Le - Director of Phu Yen Department of Education and Training said that because he had prepared mentally in advance, he and all leaders, civil servants and employees of the unit were ready to take on the tasks after the merger.
“The ideological work and psychological stability have been prepared by the provincial and industry leaders for a long time, so all cadres, civil servants and workers are assured. We consider this merger a major policy of the Party and State, so we are ready to accept the task when assigned by superiors,” said Mr. Le.
Also according to the Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Yen, after the Provincial People's Committee has specific instructions, the unit will implement the steps for the merger task according to regulations.
Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan - Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training said that the department is urgently making statistics on personnel and facilities, advising the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee to prepare for the merger and streamlining of the industry's apparatus in accordance with the direction of the Central and the province.
