Announcement of flood discharge from Nam Mo hydropower plant (Ky Son)

At 20:31 on August 4, 2023, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 02/TB-EDCNA.NM.PCTT dated August 4, 2023 from Nghe An Energy Development Corporation on the discharge of water from Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir.

To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir procedure and inter-reservoir procedure on the Ca River basin, Nghe An Energy Development Corporation plans to discharge water from Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir.

Estimated time of water discharge through the spillway is 23:00, August 4, 2023.

The total discharge is expected to be about 140m3 /s to 300m3 /s (including discharge through spillway gates and generator sets).

The expected time to end water discharge through the spillway is when the water flow to the lake drops below 140 m3 /s.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention informs: Ky Son District People's Committee and Heads of provincial Departments, branches and sectors, Road Management Area 2 to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Nam Mo Hydropower Plant to know and deploy necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the people and the State./.
