According to the Thanh Ha District Agricultural Service Center, most of the lychee trees in the district are in the flowering stage, especially the white egg lychee tree (the earliest lychee variety) with a flowering rate of over 85%. Although this year the lychee flowers bloomed about a week later than last year, thanks to the proactive and experienced farmers, the lychee trees are growing well.
To have a bumper crop of lychee, Thanh Ha district has directed communes and towns with lychee to closely monitor the weather and pests to guide farmers in timely care and prevention. Lychee growers have also actively implemented irrigation measures and added moisture to help the plants grow well in dry weather conditions.
With a total area of 3,285 hectares of lychee, Thanh Ha district continues to promote the construction of standard growing areas, strictly manage growing area codes and packaging facilities according to the regulations of importing countries. Farmers are encouraged to apply VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes to improve product quality. Thanh Ha aims to reach 35,000 tons of lychee output in 2025.
