The flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu flagpole took place on the morning of February 17, right before the inauguration of the memorial stele for martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Guard Station. This is a project to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the war to protect the northern border, funded by Thanh Nien Newspaper and businesses.
The flag-raising ceremony on Lung Cu flagpole was directly performed by officers and soldiers of Lung Cu Border Guard Station on the morning of February 17, right before the inauguration of the memorial stele for martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Guard Station.

Journalist Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper and representatives of businesses participating in sponsoring the construction of the Martyrs Memorial House in Ma Le Commune and Lung Cu Border Guard Station attended the flag-raising ceremony.
The flag hanging on Lung Cu peak is 54 square meters wide, symbolizing the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Lung Cu Flagpole is a national flagpole located at Lung Cu peak, also known as Dragon Mountain (Long Son), about 1,470 m above sea level, in Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province. This is a small point located about 3.3 km from the northernmost point of Vietnam as the crow flies.
The flag-raising ceremony was held solemnly and emotionally.

Lung Cu border post is located at the foot of the mountain, 330 meters from the flagpole, with the main task of protecting 25.5 km of Vietnam's border with China.

Currently, at Lung Cu Border Guard Station there is a station dedicated to protecting the flag on Lung Cu flagpole.
The delegation of Thanh Nien Newspaper and representatives of businesses attended the flag-raising ceremony before departing for the inauguration of the memorial house with the names of martyrs of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Post.

Officers and soldiers of Lung Cu Border Post said that every week or so, and at most 10 days, the flags are replaced, due to the strong winds on Lung Cu peak. Therefore, the border post here always keeps dozens of large flags in reserve for replacement.

Also this morning, February 17, the Border Guard Command of Ha Giang province, Thanh Nien Newspaper in coordination with sponsoring enterprises will organize the inauguration ceremony of the Martyrs Memorial House of Ma Le commune and Lung Cu Border Guard Station.
Lung Cu Flagpole is a tourist attraction in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province.

This is a project to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the war to protect the northern border, organized and implemented by Thanh Nien Newspaper. The project was built on the central hill of Ma Le commune (Dong Van district), sponsored by Amber Holdings Joint Stock Company (Hanoi), Phoenix Foundation (HCMC) and Hoa An Financial Investment Joint Stock Company (HCMC). The construction unit is Truong Thuy Enterprise (Ha Giang).
