Ky Anh town focuses on strengthening forces to participate in forest protection

On the morning of March 28, the People's Committee of Ky Anh town held a conference to review forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting (FFP) in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

Ky Anh town has nearly 11,000 hectares of forest and forestry land, of which the forested land area is nearly 7,000 hectares.

Identifying propaganda and dissemination of laws as an important step, contributing to bringing practical effectiveness in fire prevention and fighting work, in 2024, Ky Anh town focuses on propaganda at the grassroots level, organizing the signing of commitments to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety with 565 commitments for households living near forests and forest edges of 11 communes and wards; 862 commitments for students of schools throughout the town.

Head of Ky Anh Town Forest Protection Department Dao Duc Giang reported on the results of forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting in 2024 and deployed tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the whole town planted 247,000 scattered trees of all kinds; 177 hectares of forest of sufficient age were exploited, with an output of more than 11,000 ^m3 of wood for raw materials; after exploitation, individual households replanted forests according to regulations; and nearly 205 hectares of forests were taken care of in communes and wards in the area.

During the year, the Town Forest Protection Department coordinated with local authorities, units, and related departments to inspect and prevent 10 cases of violations of the Forestry Law.

In 2025, it is forecasted that the work of forest protection and fire prevention and control will face difficulties and challenges due to prolonged hot weather; the number of projects related to forests and forestry land is increasing... In order to do a good job of forest protection and fire prevention and control, Ky Anh town will proactively take measures to ensure the safety of natural forests and planted forests in the area.

Specifically, the town will focus on implementing the "4 on-site" motto, with proactive prevention being the main focus, and fire fighting must be quick, timely, and effective. Focus on managing and protecting existing forest areas, focusing on protecting forests at the root, strengthening inspection, supervision, and timely and strict handling of violations of the Forestry Law; improving and enhancing the operational capacity of all forces participating in forest protection from the town level to the grassroots level; focusing on repairing and investing in new works to improve the effectiveness of forest protection and fire prevention and fighting.
