Quang Nam Electricity Company after 28 years of establishment: Striving to contribute to the development of Quang Nam province

Constantly striving to fulfill the role of “Electricity is one step ahead” over the past 28 years, the electricity industry has invested thousands of billions of VND in thousands of projects throughout Quang Nam province; meeting the timely electricity supply for the province’s policy of shifting the purely agricultural economic structure to developing industry - trade and services; bringing electricity to remote villages and border areas, contributing to promoting the rural electrification policy.

In 1997, Quang Nam province had only 1,100km of medium and low voltage lines, 1 110kV transformer station, 588 intermediate transformer stations and loads. The whole province still had 6 districts, 103 communes and 36% of households without electricity. By 2001, 100% of districts and towns had access to the national grid.
Currently, the power grid volume managed by the company has increased 13 times in terms of the number of 110 kV transformer stations; 70 times in terms of the number of distribution transformer stations, medium and low voltage grids. Quang Nam province has 100% of communes/wards/towns with 99.3% of households having access to the national grid.

Over the past 28 years, the company has supplied the province with more than 30.477 billion kWh of electricity; of which, electricity for industry, trade and services accounts for more than 44%. Hundreds of businesses use from 1 million to over 100 million kWh/year.

Regarding customer service, in order to improve the business environment, enhance capacity and efficiency, the company has promoted the provision of electricity services electronically; rapidly developed the number of customers conducting online transactions and paying electricity bills without cash. At the same time, implemented a one-stop-shop process in handling procedures for supplying electricity through the medium-voltage grid. In 2024, the average time for supplying low-voltage and medium-voltage electricity will be only 1.9 days (compared to the plan of 5 days).

In its development journey, PC Quang Nam has regularly organized activities demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and responsibility to the social community, contributing with the locality to implement the motto "no one is left behind". Specifically, such as taking care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, supporting the construction of gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries and the poor; supporting disabled and disadvantaged children; implementing projects to "light up the countryside"; donating blood, supporting natural disaster relief, etc.

Especially over 23 years (2001-2024), from social assistance funds, funds for the poor and voluntary contributions from staff, workers and employees, the company has maintained support for the sister commune A Vuong to develop its socio-economy, supporting nearly 100 million VND/year.
