Surpassing many excellent candidates, Nguyen Minh Dung, born in 2014 from Lang Son, despite being paralyzed and having to move around in a wheelchair, still had an excellent performance in the Finals of the 2024 National Open Piano Competition in Hanoi. He was awarded the Inspirational Candidate Award.

In the final round of the competition, 116 contestants delivered excellent performances to the enthusiastic response of the audience.
After nearly 4 hours of competition, 8 contestants won 8 different groups, including: Vo Giap Phong, Nguyen Thac Hoang, Tran Thanh Mai, Nguyen Dinh Bao Khanh, Le Duc Bao Minh, Tran Ngoc Anh, Vu Anh Kiet, Vu Anh Hang Nga.
The 2024 National Open Piano (Piano Talents Festival 2024) organized by the Vietnam Institute for Education and Cultural Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a professional piano competition for ages 5-19. The competition is divided into 5 professional and non-professional groups according to age. Contestants will go through the following rounds: Qualifying round - talent search, semi-final round - shine and final round.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, President of the Vietnam Institute for Education and Cultural Development, said that since its launch, the contest has attracted nearly 2,000 contestants, of which 1,042 contestants qualified to participate in the qualifying round. 517 contestants entered the semi-finals in the Southern and Northern regions.
Outstanding candidates won the Finals of the 2024 National Open Piano Competition
The Southern region has 166 contestants competing on March 10 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music concert hall. The Northern region has 351 contestants competing on March 16 and 17 at the Vietnam National Conservatory of Music concert hall.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, in addition to the prizes for the winners, after the competition, the Organizing Committee will create opportunities for the children to gain experience in the profession. Mini concerts will be held from April 6 in Hanoi to create a performance playground, improve their skills and help the children confidently develop comprehensively.
