According to a video posted by fans on social media, Philippine head coach Albert Capellas pointed at a member of the Thai coaching staff and said: "I hope they fire you. You can't work in this industry."
One Sports quoted the media officer of the Philippine team as saying that the incident originated from a member of the Thai coaching staff. One of the assistants of coach Masatada Ishii had provocative words towards Mr. Capellas. The head of the Thai team later apologized to the Philippine coach.

This is not the first time the Thai team has seen a coaching staff member provoke an opponent. In the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, coach Akira Nishino's assistant insulted coach Park Hang Seo after the match between Vietnam and Thailand at My Dinh Stadium. At the 2022 AFF Cup, assistant Wasapol Kaewpaluk also provoked Vietnamese reporters in the press conference room.
Last night, the Thai team had to work very hard to defeat the Philippines at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok), after losing 1-2 in the first leg. The Thai team led 2-0, including a controversial goal. The Philippines then reduced the score to 1-2 and missed the opportunity to score another goal at the end of the match.
When the match entered extra time, Thailand scored the decisive goal. Suphanat Mueanta scored to help Thailand win 4-3 (2-match aggregate), thereby qualifying for the final.
