On the morning of April 3, the National Cycling Race for the "Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - HTV Ton Dong A 2025" officially kicked off in Tuyen Quang City, opening a dramatic journey with top-notch competitions.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, waved the starting flag.
The opening ceremony was honored to welcome many high-ranking delegates, including Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Mr. Dang Ha Viet, Director of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Cao Anh Minh, General Director of Ho Chi Minh City Television, Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee; Mr. Ho Song Ngoc, General Director of Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company - the exclusive sponsor, and many other guests.
In order to continue the journey of "Building a green life together" over the past 27 years, at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ho Song Ngoc, representing the sponsor Ton Dong A, awarded 50 million VND in scholarships to studious students with difficult circumstances in Tuyen Quang.
The opening stage of the tournament featured 105 riders from 15 clubs across the country, covering a distance of 46 km (20 laps around Tuyen Quang City). The race was fast-paced from the start with constant attacks. However, the escape attempts were mostly exploratory.

French racer Loic Desriac (Domesco Dong Thap Pharmaceutical Club), with more than 13 years of experience in Vietnamese cycling, had an excellent performance. At the age of 36, he broke away from the group and finished first at both prize-drawing points along the way, despite fierce pursuit from racers from Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai.
Loic Desriac not only won the stage but also took home two prestigious titles: Yellow Jersey and Green Jersey.

Racer Nguyen Van Binh (HCMC New Group) finished third, winning the orange jersey for the best Vietnamese athlete. The white jersey title belonged to 18-year-old talent Dang Van Phap (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long).
On April 4, the racers will enter stage 2 from Tuyen Quang to Hanoi with a route of 120 km. It promises to be an exciting race with many attractive strategies.
