The driver of the F1H2O Binh Dinh - Vietnam Racing Team was emotional after receiving the trophy, he said: “I just live for this (the race). This is what I do and this is what I love. I have so many great people behind me. I am truly honored to be here. It has been a sensational season. Racing is my life and I have been chasing my dream. I started late. I am old but I will continue as long as I can.” This year, Jonas Andersson began the defense of his 2024 UIM F1H2O World Championship title by finishing third overall (personal best) at the Pertamina Grand Prix held on Lake Toba in Sumatra (Indonesia). After this race, the UIM F1H2O International Racing Championship continues with the second leg of the Grand Prix Of Binh Dinh - VietNam, from March 29 - 31. According to research, Andersson was born in Orebro (Sweden) and grew up with a passion for speed and adventure. Before becoming a motorboat athlete, Andersson competed in motocross and off-road motorcycle racing. In the late 1990s, he started to switch to boat racing. Since then, Andersson has been involved in powerboat racing for 14 years, with Andersson's best result ever being 3rd place in the world in 2008. However, in 2 of the last 3 seasons, he won the championship (2021, 2023). In addition to 2 world championships, Andersson also has 1 Teams' Championship, 1 Pole Position Trophy and 14 Grand Prix. With 114 starts at the F1H2O Grand Prix, Andersson has 31 podiums and 11 pole positions.
