Having dozens of scientific publications, winning domestic and international scientific awards, and having many scientific initiatives are the "common denominators" of the 10 typical young faces that have just been announced by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to be awarded the "Golden Globe" young science and technology award in 2023.
As one of the 10 “golden balls” this year, Dr. Trinh Van Chien, lecturer, Head of the Laboratory of Research on Computer Networks and New Generation Communication Technology, School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, owns an impressive list of achievements with 40 articles published in international scientific journals, an excellent scientific report at an international conference (main author), 28 scientific reports published in full text in conference proceedings (15 articles are main authors), author of 3 books and book chapters, and training 2 masters.
According to information from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Dr. Trinh Van Chien received his bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2012, his master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea, in 2014, and his doctorate in information systems from Linköping University, Sweden, in 2020.
Prior to working at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he spent nearly two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg. His research interests include optimization problems, theoretical analysis, and applications of machine learning to information systems and image and video signal processing.
He has received the exemplary reviewer award for IEEE communications letters in 2016, 2017, and 2021. He also received the outstanding scientific research award for the first year of the 5G network deployment project from the European Union. Dr. Trinh Van Chien has also participated in reviewing many prestigious conferences and scientific journals.

Also a scientist in the field of electromechanics, Dr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, born in 1990, is a lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, University of Adelaide, South Australia. He has 71 articles published in international scientific journals, 5 excellent scientific reports at international conferences (4 articles as the main author), 35 scientific reports published in full text in the proceedings of international conferences (21 articles as the main author) and has an international patent.
Notably, Dr. Ha Thi Thanh Huong, Head of the Department of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, International University, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, is one of three young female scientists honored with the Golden Globe Award this year.

Thanh Huong has 8 national and international awards, is the author of 3 monographs and book chapters in the field of consideration for awards, and has 3 ministerial-level certificates of merit. Dr. Huong also has 12 articles in international journals, one article published in a domestic scientific journal, 8 articles published in international conferences (5 articles as the main author), two scientific reports published in full text in the proceedings of international seminars/conferences, and is the head of 1 basic project that has been accepted and met the requirements.
Dr. Ha Thi Thanh Huong was born in 1989. In 2018, she graduated with a PhD in neuroscience from Stanford University and returned to Vietnam with the desire to research brain issues, contributing to improving the neurological and intellectual health of Vietnamese people, working at Ho Chi Minh City National University.
In 2020, Dr. Thanh Huong became the first young Vietnamese researcher to receive the Early Career Award, an international award in neuroscience presented by the first young Vietnamese researcher to receive the Early Career Award from the International Organization for Research in Neuroscience (headquartered in France). In 2022, she was honored to receive the L'Oréal - UNESCO For Women in Science Award.
Also from the Southern region, Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Trong Phuoc, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Science and Technology, Can Tho University, owns 2 exclusive patents for national utility solutions. He is the author of 32 articles published in international scientific journals, including 19 articles published in journals in the Q1 category (the highest quality journals in the four groups of journals Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, with 4 articles as the main author) and 13 articles published in journals in the Q2 category (11 articles as the main author).
He also has 27 articles published in domestic scientific journals (22 as main author), 4 articles published in scientific conferences, chaired 1 ministerial-level project, 3 grassroots-level projects that have been accepted and met requirements, and edited a reference book.
Associate Professor, Dr. Huynh Trong Phuoc won the 2018 Postdoctoral Scholarly Work Award and was awarded the January Star Award by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in 2015./.
