Thanh Thuy earns billions when competing in Europe

DARE TO FACE CHALLENGES

Former Vice President in charge of professional affairs of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) Nguyen Ba Nghi said that Tran Thi Thanh Thuy has many qualities of a good volleyball player such as hard training, physical advantage (1.93 m tall), good jumping power, effective offensive serving, good offensive smashing in many positions. However, one of the factors that helps her create a difference from her colleagues is daring to go to the end of her passion, ready to face and conquer challenges.

When she had the opportunity to compete in Thailand, Taiwan, Japan and most recently, she was invited to compete in Türkiye. The "garden crane" born in 1997 was excited and immediately took advantage of the opportunity. "At first, when I went abroad to compete, I was very worried. First, I thought about the sadness of being away from my family, alone in a foreign land. Next, I didn't know if my ability would meet the requirements, if the food was to my taste, if the language and culture were limited, how would I integrate...", many questions were asked by this athlete, but in the end, she overcame them all spectacularly.

CONSTANT PROGRESS

Last year, despite being busy competing in Japan, Thanh Thuy also made many contributions to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. She made a great contribution to helping Vietnam win the 2023 Asian Challenge Cup, thereby winning a ticket to the World Challenge Cup. Together with the Vietnamese team, she won fourth place in Asia for the first time, fourth place at the 19th ASIAD, and silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games. It was her mark in international tournaments that led to Thuy being recruited by the Kuzeyboru Club (Türkiye). She made history as the first Vietnamese volleyball player to compete in Europe.

Talented and with extraordinary determination, 4T has achieved many successes.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Nghi said: "The strength and playing style of Japanese clubs is to defend persistently before attacking. Even the main attacker must practice defense, taking the first step, thanks to which Thanh Thuy learned a lot. Going to Turkey is a real ocean for Thuy because this tournament attracts many stars from the US and Brazil with strong attacking styles. Thuy will have to compete fiercely to have the opportunity to compete. Hopefully, what she has accumulated during her international competition will help Thuy stand firm."

In addition to her own efforts, Thanh Thuy's success also comes from the remarkable efforts of the governing body and VFV. Mr. Ngo Van Dong, General Director of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, the unit managing Thanh Thuy, said: "For a long time, we have supported Thanh Thuy's decision to compete abroad to develop her career without any conditions or constraints. Hopefully her success will be a motivation for the younger generations to strive."

One of the fans’ concerns is how much Tran Thi Thanh Thuy will earn when she plays in Türkiye. The leaders of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club said that the two sides are still negotiating many terms before officially signing the contract. According to many sources, Thuy will receive an income of no less than 250,000 USD (about 6 billion VND) for 10 months of playing in Türkiye.
