Appraisal of the script for the play "Nam Viet Emperor - Ten Thousand Spring Seasons"

On March 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference to evaluate Cheo art scripts with the theme: "Nam Viet De - Ten Thousand Spring Seasons". Attending were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Vu Duy Hoang, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; Bui Van Luong, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Secretary of the Pho Yen City Party Committee, along with leaders of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, People's Artist Nong Xuan Ai and leaders of relevant departments and units.

Comrade Vu Duy Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, acknowledged the quality of the Cheo art script "Nam Viet De - Van Mua Xuan".

The script of the play was written by Doctor, People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong. Throughout the play, there are 6 scenes, with 14 characters revolving around the story of the life and career of King Ly Nam De, the king who led the people to revolt against the domination of the Liang Dynasty, establishing the Van Xuan State (542-602). This was one of the first dynasties to affirm the independence and sovereignty of the Vietnamese people.

Cheo plays emphasize historical elements, affirming the sovereignty of Dai Viet from the beginning. The details about Ly Nam De proclaiming himself emperor, naming the country Van Xuan, and building an independent state, thereby affirming the spirit of national pride and the will to protect national sovereignty.

Doctor, People's Artist Le Tuan Cuong has created a Cheo play with national spiritual emotions; it is a stick of incense, a word of gratitude to the ancestors who laid the foundation for the independence and autonomy of the nation. This is a Cheo play for the staff, artists, and actors of the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts to participate in the National Cheo Festival in 2025.

The delegates acknowledged and highly appreciated the content and artistic quality of the script. Comrade Vu Duy Hoang emphasized: I hope the Cheo play will soon be staged to serve the people and participate in the Festival with high results. He also thanked the scriptwriter for his dedication to Thai Nguyen to successfully build the Cheo play: "Nam Viet De - Van Mua Xuan". The Cheo play is also a way to widely promote to the people of the whole country about the homeland and people of Thai Nguyen in integration and development with the country.
