The scale of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2024 is estimated at 162.5 trillion VND, 1.4 times higher than in 2020; export value in 2024 is estimated at 27.6 billion USD; industrial production value in 2024 is estimated at 1,030 trillion VND. The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of priority sectors and fields such as industry - construction, services, reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery. From 2020 to present, Thai Nguyen has always been among the 5 localities with the highest export turnover in the country with a total annual export value of 26 - 31 billion USD. From 2023, Thai Nguyen province is one of 18 localities that balance their own budgets and have regulations on the central budget, the province's budget revenue in 2024 will exceed 20,000 billion VND.
Thai Nguyen is one of the first 5 provinces approved by the Prime Minister for the Thai Nguyen Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Since the beginning of the term, Thai Nguyen province has attracted 161 domestic investment projects with a total investment capital of 67,357 billion VND; newly granted and adjusted capital increase for 150 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total capital of 2.73 billion USD. Up to now, the province has 217 valid FDI projects with a total registered capital of 10.819 billion USD.
Thai Nguyen City is preparing to implement the first walking street project with a width of over 80m, a total walking street area of about 5ha in Trung Vuong ward.
Regarding the New Rural Development Program, the whole province has 03 cities completing the task of building new rural areas (Thai Nguyen city, Song Cong city, Pho Yen city), 03 districts (Phu Binh district, Dai Tu district, Dinh Hoa district) meeting new rural standards; 113/121 communes meeting new rural standards, equal to 95% of the total number of communes; 29 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 08 communes meeting model new rural standards.
Administrative procedure reform and digital transformation have been focused on, achieving many outstanding results, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in Digital Transformation for 2 consecutive years (2021, 2022). In 2023, ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in the Local Innovation Index (PII). Provincial Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) ranked 2nd nationwide; People's Satisfaction Index on State Administrative Services (SIPAS) ranked 2nd nationwide; Administrative Reform Index (PAR INDEX) ranked 6th nationwide.
Social security work in the province continues to be strengthened, the fields of education and training, health care, people's health care, and job creation for workers continue to receive attention and have made significant progress. In particular, there is active participation and contribution from businesses and entrepreneurs inside and outside the province. The work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is strongly directed by the province. Thai Nguyen province strives to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households that meet the prescribed conditions before March 31, 2025; for households that do not meet the prescribed conditions, strive to complete the work before June 30, 2025.
The work of building the Party and the political system continues to be strengthened in terms of politics, ideology, organization, ethics and cadres. Thai Nguyen province has 16 affiliated party committees with 100,801 party members operating in 580 grassroots party organizations (223 grassroots party cells, 357 grassroots party committees with 24 party units, 4,874 affiliated party cells); the activities of the government and socio-political organizations have had positive changes. National defense, local military, and security are ensured; social order and safety are maintained and stabilized, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
Recognizing the position, role and importance of inspection and supervision as a key task in Party building, the Standing Committee of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee has strengthened leadership and direction of inspection and supervision work to ensure the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. Right from the beginning of the term, the Provincial Party Committee issued the Inspection and Supervision Program for the term 2020 - 2025, the annual Inspection and Supervision Program of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee. In order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of inspection and supervision work, the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 02-NQ/TU, dated March 29, 2021 on "Enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Party's inspection and supervision work", Project No. 03-DA/TU, dated April 1, 2021 "Improving the quality and efficiency of detecting, identifying and deciding on inspections when there are signs of violations against Party organizations and Party members, period 2021-2025" and Project No. 04-DA/TU, dated April 1, 2021 "Continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness and efficiency of inspection and supervision work of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, period 2021-2025".
Party committees, party organizations, and Party Inspection Committees at all levels have promoted their roles and responsibilities in leading and directing the implementation of inspection, supervision, and Party discipline tasks in a comprehensive and synchronous manner, with many innovations, effectiveness, and efficiency, contributing to the successful implementation of political tasks and Party building work in the locality. Inspection and supervision work focuses on areas and areas prone to negativity, places with prominent issues, causing social outrage, and promptly inspects when there are signs of violations, considers, concludes, and strictly handles violating party organizations and party members with the motto "No forbidden areas, no exceptions". The work of handling complaints and denunciations has been directed by Party committees and Party Inspection Committees at all levels, resolved promptly, thoroughly, and in accordance with regulations.
Since the beginning of the term, Party committees and Inspection Commissions at all levels have inspected 11,682 Party organizations and 9,488 Party members, of whom 5,469 are Party Committee members; supervised 5,762 Party organizations and 14,051 Party members, of whom 8,535 are Party Committee members at all levels; inspected 152 Party organizations (an increase of 69 organizations, 83.1% higher than the same period of the 2015-2020 term) and 751 Party members (an increase of 408 Party members, 119% higher than the same period of the 2015-2020 term), of whom 310 are Party Committee members; Disciplinary action was taken against 24 party organizations and 1,322 party members (an increase of 502 party members, 61.1% higher than the same period of the 2015-2020 term), including 212 party members who were committee members; disciplinary complaints against 04 party members were resolved, resulting in the disciplinary action remaining unchanged; denunciations were resolved against 88 party members, through the resolution of denunciations, disciplinary action was taken against 15 party members who had violated the law.
The coordination between the Party's inspection and supervision with the inspection, auditing, investigation, prosecution and trial of law enforcement agencies and the supervision of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations is increasingly close, synchronous and effective. The conclusions of inspection and disciplinary actions against Party organizations and Party members that are made public in the mass media have had a positive impact, contributing to the education of cadres and Party members, and have been supported by the people.
With high spirit and determination, the active and synchronous participation of Party committees and Party organizations to contribute to the successful implementation of the Party Congresses at all levels and the 21st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th National Party Congress in the coming time, Party committees at all levels in the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee focus on leading and directing the implementation of the following key tasks:
Firstly, thoroughly implement Directive No. 35-CT/TW dated June 14, 2024 of the Politburo on Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party and develop a plan to direct Party Congresses at all levels in the entire Provincial Party Committee. Prepare personnel for the Congress to ensure strict implementation of the Party's principles and regulations and State laws.
Second, high political determination, great efforts, and determination in leadership, direction, and organization of the implementation of the Central Executive Committee's policy on summarizing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the Party Central Executive Committee to arrange and perfect the organization of the political system to be streamlined, efficient, effective, and efficient, ensuring comprehensiveness, synchronization, and connectivity.
Third, focus on implementing solutions to remove bottlenecks and bottlenecks in the application of mechanisms, policies, and legal regulations from the practical implementation of tasks. Urgently review and detect legal regulations that are no longer suitable, overlapping, or incomplete to recommend to competent authorities to amend and supplement them appropriately; for issues under authority, resolve them where they are stuck, and at whichever level, take the initiative and boldly propose amendments and improvements.
Fourth, accelerate the implementation of socio-economic tasks in 2024 and 2025, successfully implement the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, prepare conditions for organizing party congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Fifth, grasp the situation in localities and fields, promptly direct inspections when there are signs of violations and promptly, strictly and in accordance with Party regulations handle collectives and individuals with violations, ensuring stability in units and localities before entering the Congress; promptly resolve petitions and denunciations related to personnel for Party congresses at all levels; assess personnel for Party congresses at all levels to ensure compliance with regulations.
