Creating the premise for collective economic development

In recent times, the mechanisms and policies to encourage and facilitate the development of the collective economy and cooperatives by the Central Government, the province and the district have been reviewed, revised and supplemented to suit the support needs and development level of cooperatives, creating a premise for the comprehensive development of the collective economy.

These include separate support policies and content integrated into National Target Programs and development support programs of sectors and fields, thereby promoting resource mobilization and the participation of the entire political system. The collective economic and cooperative sectors have been supported in many aspects such as: Training and fostering for workers; trade promotion, market expansion, technology transfer, capital access, infrastructure investment, etc.

Creating the premise for collective economic development

Products of cooperatives are supported to promote and trade at fairs and product introduction booths.

Cam My Tea Cooperative (Tat Thang Commune, Thanh Son District) has been operating since 2018. Up to now, the Cooperative has 2 products achieving 4-star OCOP at the provincial level. Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam My - Deputy Director of the Cooperative said: “During its operation, the Cooperative has received attention and support from the Provincial Cooperative Union, departments, branches and local authorities in training on techniques for applying high-quality green tea processing technology, on cooperative management, planting, care, processing, packaging and labeling processes for products eligible to enter the market; supporting part of the investment costs for machinery in processing. Thereby, helping the Cooperative apply scientific and technical advances, transfer technology to members, build and perfect a new cooperative model”.

In the province, in the first 6 months of this year, in terms of support for accessing credit capital, the KTTT loan turnover reached 107 billion VND. Preferential credit capital sources managed by the Provincial Cooperative Union have disbursed 9 projects with a total amount of over 2.4 billion VND. Regarding trade promotion, over 150 cooperatives and cooperative groups have participated in trade promotion activities, political and social events both inside and outside the province through fairs, seminars and conferences.

Support for cooperatives in research, application, transfer of new science, technology and technology has been promoted. Currently, the province is implementing 6 projects on the application of scientific and technological advances to support 11 cooperatives with a total support budget from the provincial science and technology budget of over 5 billion VND. Support 9 cooperatives in building and registering trademark protection, registering barcodes with a total budget of over 2 billion VND; implementing 2 provincial-level science and technology tasks, thereby supporting 12 cooperatives producing and trading goods in the province to build and apply traceability, declare product quality, apply advanced management systems and improvement tools...

From support mechanisms and policies, many cooperatives have invested in applying science and technology to production, associated with the development of local key products; proactively linking with supermarkets and enterprises to expand consumption markets, contributing to improving product quality, increasing competitiveness, gradually moving towards a concentrated production model, linking from production to consumption. Up to now, the whole province has over 600 cooperatives, more than 1,000 cooperative groups in operation, of which about 120 cooperatives carry out linkage activities in production and product consumption, 100 cooperatives apply advanced technology, high technology in production.

In the coming time, the province will continue to mobilize resources to support the KTTT, focusing on supporting training, fostering, and improving the quality of human resources; supporting trade promotion, expanding markets; applying scientific and technological advances, and new technologies. Continue to research, review, and propose to issue preferential policies to support KTTT and cooperatives in the province; proactively integrate and prioritize support for models and projects led by cooperatives and cooperative groups in the National Target Programs, OCOP Programs, etc.
