Youth Job Fair 2024: Creating conditions for union members, youth, and workers to directly grasp information and job opportunities
(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of August 24, at Hai Phong Polytechnic College, Hai Phong City Youth Union hosted the Youth Job Fair 2024 within the framework of the Project "Enhancing skills and employment opportunities for young people to contribute to improving safe international integration capacity in the period 2023 - 2025" implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in coordination with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The 2024 Youth Job Fair is an opportunity for students and graduates to be well-prepared for their graduation internship before graduating and starting their careers. With the desire to support career counseling and job introduction for youth union members in the city; at the same time, create conditions for youth union members, workers and businesses to have the opportunity to directly grasp information and job opportunities suitable to their professional qualifications, skills and abilities, receive advice and answers to information, instructions on writing application documents, submitting applications and being directly interviewed by employers for job positions.
The festival gathered businesses to participate in recruitment at 21 booths, with more than 1,000 job, study abroad and vocational training positions requiring university and college degrees and nearly 10,000 positions for unskilled workers, including: nearly 3,000 targets, with recruitment positions: textile and garment workers; workers in construction engineering, welding, electricity; sales staff; mex cutting + pressing staff; warehouse staff; environmental staff; business specialists; welders, mechanics; construction workers; electricians; unskilled workers... for footwear companies, electric welding factories, insurance companies, telecommunications services, hotels and restaurants...
Over 1,000 recruitment targets for positions such as: technology and safety engineer, automation line engineer, construction engineer for companies producing components, construction materials, heavy industrial factories; nearly 800 labor targets for fashion and sportswear production for major brands in the world; over 100 targets for labor export, studying abroad in Korea, Japan, Germany, Canada, Taiwan; over 100 targets for recruiting positions of chef, kitchen manager, nutritionist, kitchen assistant, food safety and hygiene staff for restaurants, hotels, homestays in the city.
In addition to implementing direct recruitment at highly interactive information booths, helping participants directly grasp information and job opportunities suitable for their professional qualifications, skills and abilities, and receiving advice and guidance on writing resumes, students and workers also participated in a Seminar with the participation of agencies, departments and branches in the city and experts from businesses about promising career trends, about the necessary skills and abilities to help students and workers have a successful career. Thereby, helping union members, youth, students and pupils to better understand the labor market through listening, interacting and deeply understanding the needs of employers, thereby orienting their future career path.
