Since the beginning of 2025, the work of ensuring food safety (FS) for major and unexpected events in the province has been implemented promptly and effectively. The unit has focused on implementing the work of inspecting and supervising FHS for the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival at food service establishments in the province; developing plans and implementing activities to monitor food contamination risks in districts, towns and cities.
Specifically: 48 food samples and 8 testing equipment samples were taken using rapid tests to monitor common food contamination hazards at food service establishments, with 56/56 samples being negative for the reagent, accounting for 100%. The district level has conducted rapid tests to monitor common food contamination hazards at markets, food service establishments, and street food, with 333/333 samples being negative for the reagent, accounting for 100%.
Inspection and post-inspection work has been maintained. The unit has organized 3 inter-sectoral inspections and surprise inspections at food production and trading establishments during the peak period of the Lunar New Year and the 2025 Spring Festival. Through inspections, most production and trading establishments have complied well with food safety regulations; some units are still negligent, the delegation has reminded them to strictly and fully comply with the provisions of the law on food production and trading.
“In the coming time, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene will focus on implementing activities during the Food Safety Action Month 2025, taking place from April 15 to May 15, 2025; proactively controlling and warning about food contamination risks; promoting communication, raising awareness in the community, and improving the quality of food safety and hygiene management; inspecting and supervising food safety assurance at food service establishments, especially during the upcoming tourist season,” emphasized Mr. Le Minh Tien.
