On the morning of January 4, the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee held a conference to review internal affairs and judicial reform work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

In 2023, the work of internal affairs, judicial reform and anti-corruption and negativity (PCTN, TC) was paid attention to, directed and implemented quite seriously, methodically and effectively by the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee.

Thanks to that, the political security, order and social safety situation in the area is stable, ensuring effective service for the local socio-economic development. The work of propaganda, dissemination and education of law continues to be strengthened.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Tran Quang Nhat reported on the results of task implementation in 2023.

Authorities have proactively deployed forces, means, and preventive measures, promptly handled complicated cases and incidents, ensured security and order in all situations, and strictly handled all types of crimes and violations of the law.

Local military and defense work was carried out effectively. Inspection, examination and supervision work was strengthened, gradually curbing and pushing back corruption and negativity. Dialogue and petition resolution work was carried out seriously.

The investigation agency received and resolved 1,088/1,172 crime reports; accepted 1,060 cases, 1,923 defendants and resolved 899 cases, 1,586 defendants. Prosecuted and supervised the reception and resolution of 1,172 crime reports; accepted and resolved 805 cases, 1,553 defendants.

The court has accepted and resolved 999/1,89 criminal cases; resolved 1,709/2,018 civil, family, administrative, and commercial cases. The result of enforcement of judgments on work is 4,741 cases; the result of enforcement of judgments on money, the total amount to be enforced is 486.75 billion VND.

The inspection sector has carried out 401 administrative inspections and specialized inspections; recommended handling and decided to impose administrative sanctions on 862 organizations and individuals.

In addition, relevant agencies such as the Department of Justice, Customs, Tax, Forestry, Market Management, Lawyers Association, and Bar Association have improved their operational capacity and achieved many positive results.

Regarding anti-corruption and anti-corruption work in enterprises and organizations in the non-state sector: During the year, the investigation agency investigated 17 cases with 71 defendants; resolved 5 cases with 22 defendants. The result was the recovery and compensation of 10 billion 266 million VND of corrupt assets and damages caused by corruption.

Regarding the activities of the Provincial Judicial Reform Steering Committee and its members, the judicial agencies have closely followed the programs and plans of the Provincial Party Committee and the direction of the superior sector, synchronously implementing solutions to organize and achieve good results. The work of building and perfecting the law continues to receive attention. The implementation of laws related to the judicial sector is carried out seriously. The quality of investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments continues to be improved.

The targets assigned by the National Assembly and central agencies have been basically achieved and exceeded. The quality of litigation has been increasingly improved. The role of lawyers, legal assistants, and judicial experts in resolving criminal, administrative, and civil cases continues to be enhanced.

In 2024, following the direction of the Central Government and the practical situation of the province, Ha Tinh will soon issue a key work program on internal affairs and anti-corruption and anti-corruption for the year, implementing it to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
