Strengthening traffic safety and order

In recent times, traffic safety and order in Thanh Thuy district have seen many positive changes, and people's awareness of obeying the Traffic Law has changed significantly. This result is thanks to the district's departments and agencies synchronously implementing many solutions to prevent and control traffic accidents.

Currently, the number of vehicles in the district is increasing, while some infrastructure is of poor quality, the roads are narrow, damaged, degraded, bumpy, and concave such as in the communes of Xuan Loc, Thach Dong, Tan Phuong, Dao Xa... Besides, the quality of some traffic infrastructure works has also degraded. Especially during the rice harvest season, many people have encroached on the roads to thresh rice, dry rice, burn straw, and some households even let their livestock stand or lie on the roads, causing traffic safety problems and potential risks of traffic accidents.

Faced with the above situation, the district has identified traffic safety as a regular political task of the Party Committee, a driving force to promote local socio-economic development, especially tourism services. At the same time, strengthen propaganda and dissemination of traffic laws to the people. Diversify forms of propaganda such as through district and commune radio stations and other mass media so that people understand and see the obligations and benefits of complying with traffic laws when participating in traffic and the consequences and harms of not complying with the Traffic Law.

Along with that, the Traffic Police Team, the District Police use patrol cars and motorbikes to organize mobile propaganda during peak hours, during patrol shifts; coordinate with the Provincial Radio and Television Station, Phu Tho Newspaper to create news articles and reports on traffic safety. The focus is on peak plans to handle violations of traffic safety and public order. Coordinate with the District Department of Education and Training and educational institutions in the district to organize propaganda and sign commitments to comply with traffic laws, instruct on traffic control skills for high school and junior high school students to ensure 2 sessions/1 semester; coordinate with agencies, units, and residential areas to organize propaganda and dissemination of laws on road traffic and inland waterways; organize restaurants, eateries, bars, karaoke bars, businesses, and motorbike and scooter repair shops to sign commitments to comply with traffic laws; Posting billboards and posters on preventing the harmful effects of alcohol and beer at business establishments for customers to use alcohol and beer on the premises.

From December 15, 2023 to present, the Traffic Police - Order Team has recorded and handled 2,430 violations, fined nearly 5 billion VND, temporarily detained 27 cars, 574 motorbikes, 1,490 papers, 99 other vehicles, revoked driving licenses of 206 cases, confiscated 1 car (expired), 1 motorbike...

Through investigation and settlement of traffic accidents, the District Police determined that the main causes of traffic accidents were due to drivers participating in traffic: Not paying attention; speeding; overtaking, changing direction not in accordance with regulations; not reducing speed and giving way at intersections; not driving on the right side of the road, not driving in the correct lane or section of the road; driving after consuming alcohol, beer or stimulants.

According to Major Luu Van Tuan - Captain of the Traffic Police - Order Team, District Police: To strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety from now until the end of 2024, the Traffic Police force will focus on mobile patrols, organize closed patrols in the area, especially on routes where traffic accidents frequently occur, routes with many tourist and resort destinations, routes with many tourist vehicles during rush hours. At the same time, apply science and technology to the process of patrolling, controlling and handling violations, and impose cold penalties on violations collected through traffic safety surveillance cameras and images of violations provided by the people in accordance with the provisions of law...

To achieve the goal of "For a peaceful life" for all people when participating in traffic, in the coming time, Thanh Thuy District Police together with functional forces will launch peak campaigns to ensure traffic safety and combat all types of crimes operating on traffic routes; strictly handle violations that are the direct causes of traffic accidents. Continue to coordinate with the People's Committees of communes and towns to thoroughly resolve acts of encroachment on roads and sidewalks, trading, holding markets, construction works, tents, sidewalk roofs... limiting visibility, obstructing traffic, violating the protection corridor of traffic works and traffic safety corridors.

At the same time, promote the leadership role of Party committees at all levels, the management of authorities at all levels in implementing solutions to ensure traffic safety and the active participation of the masses, to ensure smooth traffic, contributing to reducing traffic accidents.
