From February 6 to February 16, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires port authorities, airports, air traffic service providers, airlines, and aviation service providers to apply level 1 enhanced aviation security control measures.
From February 10 to February 12 (ie the first and third days of Tet), the management agency is not required to increase the number of personnel but must still ensure other measures of level 1 as prescribed. The Civil Aviation Authority emphasized that the port authority must notify the above content to aviation service providers and foreign airlines operating at the airport.

Decree 92/2015 of the Government on Aviation Security clearly states that enhanced aviation security control level 1 is applied when there is an important political and social event of the country, with a complicated political security and social order situation.
According to regulations, airports implementing level 1 aviation security control measures will implement measures including increasing the number of aviation security personnel and security guards on duty in restricted areas, checking people with handheld metal detectors and performing 7% visual inspection of people, objects and vehicles entering restricted areas of the airport. Aviation security control forces and security guards will be supplemented by 20% of the regular on-duty force to be ready for duty.
In public areas, security teams must increase the frequency of patrolling the area, increase the frequency of broadcasting on the public address system requiring passengers to stay away from their luggage, monitor public areas of the terminal with cameras, and increase the number of aviation security control personnel supervising.
Other necessary work includes increased interviews, verification of identity documents when passengers check in, random visual inspection of 15% of passengers who passed through the gate without alarm, and visual inspection of 15% of carry-on and checked baggage through X-ray machines without suspicious images.
Notably, unaccompanied checked baggage will be visually inspected, after being screened before being loaded onto the plane.
Regarding food safety and hygiene, the Civil Aviation Authority requires random visual inspection of 2% of meals and reserves at aviation security checkpoints before bringing them to the airport.
