Hyacinth ramblings

Borrowing the image of water hyacinth with purple flowers, symbolizing loyalty, journalist and poet Nguyen Hong Vinh recalled the memory of Uncle Ho's soldiers and their comrades during the anti-American war to save the country. When night fell, they bravely jumped into the rushing river, weaving between the water hyacinth clumps to hide from the enemy. Many female guerrillas were waiting on the other side to welcome the troops and used their checkered scarves as a signal to guide the troops to surround the fort, destroy the enemy, and liberate the clumps and hamlets from foreign invasion.

Nostalgic watching the floating water hyacinth

Purple flowers floating on the river bank

Every night the fireworks light up the sky!

Holding on to water hyacinth, the army crossed the river.

You take me to the secret bunker

The checkered scarf is a sacred signal.

Lead my teammates to attack the fort and destroy the enemy.
