The Chau Thanh District Labor Union (LĐLĐ) in Tien Giang province consistently affirms its role in representing, protecting the rights, and supporting workers and employees. This is also a positive preparation for the 2025 Workers' Month, a peak period for all levels of trade unions to demonstrate their concern for the workforce in the area.

Comrade Truong Thanh Hoa, Chairman of the Chau Thanh District Labor Union, visited and provided support to workers who suffered work-related accidents.

From the first quarter of 2025, under the direction of the Tien Giang Provincial Labor Union and the Standing Committee of the Chau Thanh District Party Committee, the work of representing and caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers and employees has been emphasized.

During the recent Lunar New Year (Tet) in 2025, the District Labor Union reviewed and proposed to the Provincial Labor Union to award 25 government- funded gifts, totaling 32.5 million VND; and simultaneously provided support to 67 cases, totaling 33.5 million VND. The grassroots labor unions mobilized the management boards of companies and enterprises to: donate 6,376 Tet gifts to disadvantaged workers, totaling over 3 billion VND; provide 326 train and bus tickets worth nearly 40 million VND; arrange 5 bus trips to take workers home for Tet, costing 17.5 million VND; donate 9,206 gifts to union members, totaling 2.7 billion VND; and organize "Tet Reunion" events at 6 enterprises with 4,163 union members participating. The raffle program offers prizes including motorbikes, refrigerators, washing machines, and many other valuable gifts, with a total prize value of over 60 million VND.

Looking ahead to Workers' Month 2025, the Chau Thanh District Labor Union has proactively developed a specific action plan. Key areas of focus include: Organizing activities in response to Workers' Month - the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health; the "Creative Workers, Confidently Stepping into a New Era" program; the "May Dialogue" program; the "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" forum; the "Thank You to Workers" program; a peak month for developing union membership, establishing grassroots trade unions, and introducing new Party members; and the "Propaganda and Awareness-Raising Program for Union Members and Workers".

In addition, the monitoring of the implementation of labor laws, social insurance policies, and occupational safety and hygiene at enterprises has also been strengthened. The District Labor Union surveyed and monitored 5 enterprises, initially noting that all units complied well with legal regulations, especially regarding wages, Tet bonuses, and the quality of meals provided to workers. Five of these units even increased the meal allowance to over 32,000 VND per meal.

According to Comrade Tran Thuy Ai Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Chau Thanh District Labor Union, generally speaking, the work of monitoring the implementation of laws and policies directly related to workers and trade union organizations; and the work of caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate interests of workers have always been identified as key tasks and consistently implemented well by all levels of trade unions in the district.

The ideological situation and morale of the majority of workers and employees remain stable; they are complying well with the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; they are actively engaged in labor and production, improving their living standards and contributing to economic development and social stability in the district.

In the coming period, the Chau Thanh District Labor Union will continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of labor laws, trade union regulations, social insurance, occupational safety and health, fire prevention and control, and food safety and hygiene (especially the quality of workers' meals); focusing on inspecting the implementation of policies and regulations for workers, especially female workers; the implementation of grassroots democracy regulations and organizing regular dialogues at units and enterprises. At the same time, it will continue to promote legal counseling for workers; closely monitor the situation of unpaid wages and social insurance debts at enterprises…

With the motto "Each grassroots trade union - One benefit for its members," the trade unions at all levels in Chau Thanh district are striving to organize the 2025 Workers' Month into a peak period of action for workers. This is also an opportunity to show the concern and gratitude of the whole society towards the workforce - those who are contributing day and night to the sustainable development of the locality.
