At the workshop, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Hong Thai reviewed the development journey of Lam Dong.
After liberation, Lam Dong was a difficult area, with large land, sparse population, fragmented terrain, mainly small-scale production, poor technical infrastructure, and a seriously degraded road system during the war... In addition, agricultural production mainly met local food needs; Industry and handicrafts were not yet developed...

With that determination, solidarity and effort, the socio-economic development situation in Lam Dong province has achieved important results, making it a fairly developed province in the country.
The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, with GRDP per capita reaching 103.6 million VND; the average labor productivity growth rate reached 21%. The agricultural sector continues to be the pillar of the economy, growing by 5.1%, ensuring the supply of food for domestic consumption and export. Budget revenue reached 13,100 billion VND.
Tourism continues to be a bright spot in Lam Dong's socio-economic development. Many large-scale festivals, events, national-level sports competitions, especially the successful 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, continue to affirm Da Lat city as the Flower Festival city of Vietnam, a creative city in the field of music by UNESCO and a city in the Group of 5 impressive Festival cities of Asia.

The planning of Lam Dong province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been announced; the investment progress of expressway projects in the province is being accelerated. In particular, the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Construction Investment Project under the public-private partnership model (phase 1) has been approved with a total investment of VND 17,718 billion, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Lam Dong - Da Lat, creating a premise and a solid foundation for the next steps of development.
According to the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, it is expected that the province will arrange 137 communes and wards into 51 basic administrative units.
