Gio Linh District People's Committee met with relevant units to handle the case of a female student being beaten by a friend in the restroom of Gio Linh town middle school.

Gio Linh Town Secondary School also reminded, supported, and helped student Nguyen Thi TD (class 8E) overcome her shortcomings of witnessing the incident but not reporting it to the school.

At the same time, Gio Linh Town Secondary School will base on the disciplinary form to classify the conduct of students who violate the law in the 2022-2023 school year; develop a plan, assign teachers to monitor, train and educate students during the summer.

Gio Linh District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center also temporarily suspended student Ngo Thi QT (grade 10B) from school; reprimanded and notified her parents to coordinate and help student Nguyen Thi NQ (grade 10C) overcome her shortcomings.

Regarding the incident, according to the conclusion of the Gio Linh District People's Committee, after the family of female student HTN (the beaten female student, studying in class 8E of Gio Linh Town Secondary School) submitted a request for injury assessment, the authorities issued a decision to request an assessment. The result determined that the percentage of HTN's injury was 0%. Gio Linh District Police invited relevant parties to resolve the incident.

The families of the female students involved in beating HTN admitted their mistakes and offered to pay 20 million VND in compensation. The family of HTN accepted the apology, agreed to receive the money and all parties agreed to resolve the case through civil proceedings.

In addition, Gio Linh Town Police also issued a warning decision to NTQT female student (15 years old, class 10B, Gio Linh Town Secondary School) for the acts of "Intentionally causing injury or harm to the health of others but not being prosecuted for criminal liability" and "Having acts of provoking, teasing, insulting, abusing, defaming the honor and dignity of others".

For NTTN and T.D.QC (both in class 10B at Gio Linh town secondary school), the authorities did not issue a decision to impose administrative sanctions because at the time of the violation, the two students were under 14 years old. The police invited the families and students to directly remind them, write a commitment not to re-offend, and assigned the families to coordinate with the school, agencies, departments, and educational organizations.

For the group of female students who witnessed the incident but did not report it, the police educated, reminded and asked them to promise not to repeat the offense.

The police also informed the results of the case to Gio Linh Town Secondary School and Gio Linh District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center, requesting that educational institutions strictly handle and discipline the violating students.

The principal, vice principal, team leader, and two related homeroom teachers also wrote a report, specifically reviewing their individual responsibilities in leadership, direction, consulting, and student management before the school's pedagogical council.

Gio Linh Town Secondary School assigned teachers to regularly contact the family of student HTN (the student who was beaten) to visit and encourage him to help him stabilize his spirit and return to school soon. At the same time, the school also assigned teachers to teach extra classes and support HTN to catch up with his classmates and complete the semester tests as prescribed.

On the afternoon of April 24, after making up 2 Physics lessons, female student HTN (class 8E, Gio Linh town middle school) went out to play and went to a coffee shop behind the school to wait for the 4th and 5th lessons. There, the female student met some 8th grade students from the same school and 2 10th grade students from Gio Linh district Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center.

After that, two 10th graders and 8th graders went into the restroom of Gio Linh Town Middle School and got into a fight, which was recorded on video. The cause was determined to be a conflict between the students on social media.
