Sacrifice for the community
Dak Nong has 262 rural centralized water supply projects (CNTTNT) invested by many different sources of capital. In previous years, most of the projects were damaged, degraded, and ineffective.
In that context, in 2021, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province assigned Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited to manage and operate 95 works, of which 46 works were in operation and 49 works were inactive.
Over the past 3 years, with the motto of “daring to take on difficult tasks, striving to bring new values”, the company has created positive changes in quality and efficiency in many projects. This has been highly appreciated by local leaders and communities.
According to Mr. K'Vu Quoc, Bu Sop hamlet, Dak Nia commune, Gia Nghia city, in the past 3 years, since the centralized water supply project was upgraded, water has been supplied to his family more regularly and fully, especially in the dry season.
“With enough clean water to use, I boldly invested in standard sanitation facilities, which makes daily life and hygiene better,” Mr. K'Vu Quoc happily said.
According to the company's leadership, the company has recently implemented structural and non-structural measures. Specifically, the company replaced filter materials; regularly cleaned and flushed construction items.
The company organizes training courses for staff on management and operation of water supply works. Assigns staff to operate to ensure safe and stable water supply for people.
Mr. Nguyen Thua Anh, Director and Chairman of Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited emphasized: The key point in creating new values is in management and operation.
Good management has directly impacted the following contents and activities on improving the quality of works and non-construction solutions.
Mr. Nguyen Thua Anh informed: Currently, the labor productivity of each company leader and employee has increased 5 times compared to 2020. Meanwhile, the income of company leaders, employees and workers has only increased by 17%.
"The company's Board of Directors and employees have created a new value system, where most of them know how to sacrifice some material benefits and suffer some personal losses for the greater good of the community," Mr. Anh affirmed.
Regarding the current difficulties, when the company has not received funding from the Provincial People's Committee for the management and operation of water supply works, Mr. Nguyen Thua Anh said: "We consider this period of time as a time for patience, waiting, and accumulating value."
Aiming for new goals
From 2021 to present, the number of households receiving clean water from water supply works managed by Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited is much higher year after year.
Mr. Anh is happy that to do this, the company has built and operated a framework for assigning and controlling work in a methodical, clear, and strict manner.
Therefore, although the area is spread throughout the province with 8 branches in districts and cities, and a staff of 180 people, the Company's Board of Directors and department heads can easily know and monitor the work of each employee every day.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, an employee of the Company's branch in Cu Jut district, confided: When he received additional tasks of managing and operating water supply projects, he worked with higher intensity and responsibility.
“It's very hard, but in return I feel that the work I do is very meaningful to the local people,” Ba confided.
Also according to the company's leaders: The goal and vision that the company is aiming for is to provide safe water to more and more households in rural areas.
This not only directly contributes to improving the lives and health of households but is also a matter of social security, greatly contributing to building new rural areas, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, and improving the lives of rural residents.
Regarding this content, Mr. Hoang Van Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, assessed: After 3 years of the Provincial People's Committee assigning ITNT projects to Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited for management, the efficiency has been clearly improved. The company has become a brighter spot compared to other management entities.
According to Report No. 92, dated November 6, 2024 of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Council Supervision Delegation, 55/54 water samples from works managed by the Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited reached the permissible limit and had parameters continuously within the limits prescribed by local technical regulations.
