Many Facebook users have posted information about seeing their friends and even their own accounts with a green check mark next to them. This is the symbol used to confirm the account or fanpage owner on Facebook.
According to Thanh Nien 's observation, this could be a display error, as many accounts said they only saw blue ticks from friends. But on the other hand, many people did not see those accounts having this tick.
Typically, to get the blue tick, users must have a large number of followers, provide identification, and go through a rigorous Facebook approval process.
Many user accounts suddenly got blue Facebook ticks
Facebook recently tested a blue tick subscription for $14.99/month on iOS or $11.99/month on the web. This move is said to be following in the footsteps of billionaire Elon Musk when he launched the Twitter Blue service.
As for Facebook, the only information released by Meta is that it is testing blue tick rentals in the Australian and New Zealand markets and has not yet opened in other countries.
Therefore, many accounts have seen the blue tick appear, which is considered an unwanted technical error. This error is said to easily confuse users when they cannot distinguish between real and fake accounts, and at the same time, it loses the value of the tick that Facebook wants to rent on a monthly basis.
