“In specific campaigns and battles, without the contribution, protection and shelter of the people for the troops, those victories would have been difficult; the sacrifices and losses would have been even greater. Especially the campaign to liberate Hue in the spring of 1975, without the uprising and the will to stand up and fight the enemy of the people, the campaign would not have been able to be so swift and achieve such great victory,” Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh said emotionally.

Having held the role of Chairman of Tay Loc Ward People's Committee, then Party Secretary, Chairman of Phuoc Vinh Ward People's Committee (former Hue City), Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thiet recalled that after the liberation day, people's lives were very difficult. When the country was innovating and gradually developing, natural disasters and floods affected the general development and people's lives. At that time, the spirit of solidarity and "sharing the good and the bad" of the people was demonstrated. The contribution of human and material resources in difficult times, sharing each package of instant noodles, supporting each other with each bowl of rice in difficult times, like in the "great flood" at the end of 1999... was the strength to help Hue City stabilize and recover its economy soon after.

After many years of efforts, Hue City has become a centrally-governed city since January 1, 2025. Former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (now the City Party Committee) Phan Ngoc Tho always mentioned the role of the people in the process of building and developing Hue City throughout the past journey. Each individual has joined the local government in cleaning the environment, contributing to urban beautification, building a cultural lifestyle... creating an increasingly spacious, clean and beautiful face for Hue from urban to rural areas, a green - clean - bright environment, creating its own identity. That is the great strength for Hue to take steady steps and that will also be the strength for Hue to rise up with the country.

Mr. Phan Trong Hung, Dong Ba Ward, Phu Xuan District shared that every Sunday morning, everyone joins in cleaning up in response to the "Green Sunday" movement. Each person contributes a small part to create a movement that has a widespread impact. He himself feels very proud to have contributed his small part to building an increasingly clean and beautiful city. Seeing that small contributions bring great benefits, every Sunday morning he invites more people to join in cleaning the environment.

In recent times, the work of site clearance for projects in Hue City has achieved many results. This result must be attributed to the cooperation and joint efforts of each citizen. Experience has shown that wherever the people agree and relocate early, the projects are completed on schedule, even ahead of schedule.

Mr. Ho Huu Duc, Phong Phu ward, Phong Dien town said: In 2023, his house was located in the construction area of ​​the Phong Dien - Dien Loc flood-crossing road. Since moving to the new resettlement area, the house has been built spaciously, the children have their own space, and the couple can rest assured to develop the family economy. Many other households later also moved to the resettlement area to build new houses, creating a more ideal living space.

Researcher Nguyen Xuan Hoa said that Hue is building itself into a unique heritage city; in which, traditional elements of culture, life, urban architecture, etc. are promoted more. Building an urban area with its own identity will put the people at the center, if the people stand aside, it will be difficult to do so. Therefore, it is necessary to further promote the human factor and the participation of the people in urban construction plans.

At the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the Homeland and the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Hue City Party Committee, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Hue City National Assembly Delegation, Mr. Le Truong Luu shared: Hue wears the appearance of a city directly under the Central Government, the responsibility towards the Party Committee and the People of Hue City is even heavier but also extremely glorious.
