GDXH - Nearly 2 days after surgery, striker Xuan Son is practicing walking and is being instructed to practice on the spot, preparing for the recovery phase.
According to information from Vinmec International General Hospital, this afternoon (January 8), in addition to continuing to practice walking and moving his legs flexibly, player Xuan Son was instructed to practice on the spot to maintain strength for his shoulders and arm muscles, to ensure mass and strength of his upper limbs during the recovery period.
According to Prof. Dr. Tran Trung Dung, Director of Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal Trauma, Vinmec Healthcare System - who directly performed surgery on the male player, for an athlete like Xuan Son, the recovery requirements are very high.

After surgery, the broken bone needs to heal properly, but his muscle strength, endurance and reflexes must also be restored to their highest level to be able to return to high-intensity competition. This is a major challenge that the medical team has carefully planned to solve.
Therefore, the team of experts at Vinmec has developed a detailed training plan, with a clear regimen for each day, to optimize endurance, strength and recovery ability for player Xuan Son.
In addition, a carefully designed nutritional regimen, distributing nutrient groups and estimating calorie consumption appropriate to each activity, ensures the perfect balance for the male player's recovery process.
According to the plan, in the first 2 weeks after surgery - the foundational stage that determines the recovery process - the number 12 striker of the Vietnamese team will focus on passive and active exercises, designed according to a personalized regimen at Vinmec.
These exercises include: Strengthening the quadriceps, hamstrings, adductors, and abductors; ankle exercises with resistance bands; isometric gluteal exercises to support pelvic stability, increase hip strength; and maintain upper extremity strength.

Previously, on the evening of January 6, after conducting in-depth examinations and consultations, doctors determined that Xuan Son's injury was more serious than initially recorded.
The consultation results recorded: Xuan Son had a complex closed fracture of the middle third of the two tibia bones, with a large loose fragment.
Vinmec Sports Medicine doctors have decided on a closed bone fusion surgery method using intramedullary nails with pins under the fluoroscopy screen. This is a minimally invasive surgical solution, helping to minimize soft tissue damage and ensure quick recovery.
