The trust in the maid was broken when the homeowner accidentally discovered a terrible secret through the surveillance camera.
Naphonthip (46 years old, from Phitsanulok, Thailand) is facing charges of stealing property from the family of Ms. Nuankamon, the homeowner for whom she worked as a part-time maid. The stolen property includes gold, silver and many valuable jewelry.
Specifically, Naphonthip was hired as a maid for Ms. Nuankamon's family from early November 2024. She worked 3 hours a week on Wednesdays, with a salary of 300 Baht (about 230,000 VND).

During her time working, Naphonthip was considered by her employer to be diligent and a good worker. However, in reality, she had a habit of stealing things from the house and had a passion for gambling.
Ms. Nuankamon began to suspect when she discovered that many valuable jewelry items in her house kept disappearing, with the total damage value reaching more than 120,000 Baht (about 91 million VND).
To find the culprit, Mrs. Nuankamon secretly installed a surveillance camera in the house. The images captured from the camera clearly showed that the maid Naphonthip was the one who stole the items.
After having evidence, the police arrested Naphonthip. At the investigation agency, she confessed to all her crimes. Naphonthip said that due to her addiction to online gambling, she stole the homeowner's property and sold it to have money to spend. She also admitted to having committed the theft more than 10 times.
