In 2025, Binh Lieu district aims to attract 500,000 tourists, including 20,000 international visitors, achieving total revenue of over VND217.26 billion and creating jobs for about 1,000 workers. Mr. Vi Ngoc Nhat, Head of the district's Department of Culture, Science and Information, said: To realize this goal, the district is synchronously implementing many solutions, renewing products and diversifying tourism activities.
Accordingly, one of the key directions is that the district improves the quality of services and infrastructure for tourism; invests in upgrading transportation, especially main roads, inter-commune and inter-village roads; expands destination connections, helping tourists easily access ecological areas, villages and scenic spots. At the same time, focus on developing diverse types of accommodation, especially homestays, farmstays and eco-resort models associated with nature, creating unique and intimate accommodation spaces .
Ecotourism continues to be the spearhead with nature discovery tours, trekking and picnics to places such as Cao Xiem and Cao Ly mountains, Khe Van waterfall, Khe Tien waterfall, Dong Long forest, Luc Hon terraced fields... Products are specially designed to attract young people, nature lovers and adventure travelers. In parallel, community tourism is systematically deployed in the villages of Phat Chi, Khe Tien, Song Mooc...
Here, visitors can experience the daily life of the Dao and San Chi people through making cakes, weaving, pounding green rice, and traditional cultural activities. Agricultural products and craft villages such as dong vermicelli, tea picking, and wild honey are integrated into the experience tour, contributing to the development of unique agricultural tourism. Highlights such as the dong rieng flower park, Huc Dong flower space combined with highland cuisine are creating a new attraction for Binh Lieu tourism.
Binh Lieu is also gradually forming and exploiting specialized tourism routes, creating its own mark such as the route to explore Cao Xiem peak - "the roof of Quang Ninh", the route to experience the golden season - hunting clouds - hunting flowers; the route of cultural festivals - craft villages - relics. These products not only enhance the experience for tourists but also contribute to preserving and promoting indigenous cultural values.
Binh Lieu has made a breakthrough by strengthening regional connectivity and international cooperation, such as with JICA and major tourism companies; and proactively connecting border tourism routes through the Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) border gate, aiming to improve the quality and diversity of tourism products. In 2025, Binh Lieu will be bustling with a series of rich cultural and tourism events.
Many unique festivals of the Tay, Dao, and San Chi people will take place throughout the year, such as Luc Na Communal House Festival, Soong Co Festival, Khieng Gio Festival, Mua Vang Festival, and Hoa So Festival. In addition, sports activities such as Cao Xiem trail running, mountain biking, and mountain climbing are also held regularly, contributing to enriching experiences and promoting the local image.
In addition, the district promotes digital communication by building a website integrating digital maps and destination databases; producing videos promoting new technology applications; organizing famtrips and presstrips connecting businesses and the media; effectively exploiting social networks and KOLs to spread attractive local images with strong identities.
With a clear orientation, in-depth investment products and constant innovation, Binh Lieu not only aims for the number of visitors or revenue, but also aims to become a typical destination for eco-tourism and community culture - where each journey is a trip to touch the depth of identity and soul of the Northeast highlands.
For sustainable development, Binh Lieu needs to overcome challenges of unsynchronized infrastructure, difficulty in accessing ecological zones, lack of tourism human resources, and preservation of cultural identity. Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen promotion and market connection, especially international visitors, to improve both the quantity and quality of tourists.
