Amending regulations on awarding the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother

The Government issued Decree No. 83/2025/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 56/2013/ND-CP dated May 22, 2013 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of the Ordinance on the State honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother. This Decree takes effect from April 2, 2025.

Clause 1, Article 1 of this Decree amends and supplements the last paragraph of Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree No. 56/2013/ND-CP as follows:

- In case a mother has a husband or children who join the enemy's ranks but the mother complies well with the Party and State's guidelines and policies, is unanimously considered for awarding or posthumously awarding by authorities at all levels, and has no complaints, denunciations, recommendations, or reflections from the people, or has complaints, denunciations, recommendations, or reflections but has been concluded by competent authorities to be incorrect, she will still be considered for awarding or posthumously awarding the State honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother.

- Mothers who are posthumously awarded the State honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother will receive the certificate, badge of Heroic Vietnamese Mother and other regimes according to the provisions of the law on emulation, commendation and the law on preferential treatment for people with revolutionary contributions.

- The cost of organizing the ceremony to confer or posthumously confer the State honorary title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother shall not exceed 1 month of basic salary for 1 case; the funeral of a Heroic Vietnamese Mother shall not exceed 2 months of basic salary for 1 case.
