The international mission of Uncle Ho's Army in peacetime

This mission not only affirms the professionalism and readiness to respond to all situations of the Vietnam People's Army, but is also a vivid demonstration of the pure, humane, and peaceful international spirit of the Vietnamese people.

With the mission of search and rescue, every minute and every second is of life and death significance. As soon as receiving information about the earthquake disaster in Myanmar, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army reported to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to lead and direct forces to develop plans, strategies, mobilize human resources, equipment, goods... to participate in search and rescue work in Myanmar.

The preparation not only requires speed, but also demonstrates the level of organization and methodical command of our Army. The soldiers set off with the highest sense of responsibility, bringing with them extensive experience from United Nations peacekeeping operations; previous domestic and international rescues, especially in Türkiye in 2023. The contingent of officers of the Vietnam People's Army is not only ready to fight to protect the Fatherland but also carries the mission of protecting peace, security and safety for the Vietnamese people and friendly countries around the world.

Throughout history, our Army has not only fought to liberate the nation and protect the Fatherland, but has also always been ready to help friends, demonstrating a noble international spirit. Vietnamese soldiers and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers have stood shoulder to shoulder with the armies and people of China, Laos and Cambodia to fight for independence.

Today, that spirit continues to be promoted in the United Nations peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, etc. Wherever and in whatever circumstances, our Army is always ready to go and help the people of other countries as if saving our own people. That is the inheritance and development of the nation's noble traditions, while at the same time demonstrating Vietnam's role and responsibility in the international community.

This mission to Myanmar is not only a rescue mission, but also the duty of a progressive nation, a responsible member of ASEAN. Once again, the Revolutionary Army - Uncle Ho's soldiers volunteered to take the lead, bringing with them the benevolent heart, the spirit of "helping a friend is helping yourself", contributing to building solidarity and friendship among nations.

The image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in green uniforms, covered in mud, trying to find every living thing in the rubble in Türkiye in 2023 has become a symbol of humanitarian spirit and noble international responsibility, leaving a deep impression on the local government and people. This time, with the mission in Myanmar, that spirit has once again been promoted. The people of the whole country will always follow, trust and be proud of the excellent sons of the Vietnam People's Army performing their sacred duty in a friendly land.

International friends also highly appreciated the readiness and professionalism of the Vietnamese rescue force; praised the promptness and decisiveness of our Army in immediately sending a team to support Myanmar. That not only raised Vietnam's position in the international arena, but also demonstrated the close connection between countries in the ASEAN region, together building a peaceful and developed community.

With professionalism and high determination, the Vietnamese rescue force will successfully complete its mission, contributing to easing the pain and loss of the people of Myanmar; enhancing the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers; affirming that Vietnam has become a trustworthy partner in the region and the world.
