Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the province Phan Trong Binh and Chairman of the People's Committee of Duc Tho district Tran Hoai Duc chaired the conference.
Duc Tho district currently has 101 hectares of rice production on the field of rươi including 3 main varieties: ST 24, ST 25, VNR 20. Of which, Bui La Nhan commune has 47 hectares, Yen Ho commune has 43 hectares and Quang Vinh commune has 11 hectares.
The characteristic of rice production on land with earthworms and clams is 100% organic production, no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, only composted manure to ensure the growth of earthworms and clams, so the yield of rice in earthworm fields is not as high as that of conventionally produced rice.

However, through actual production, the product of rice from the field of rươi is sold at twice the price of rice produced normally (1kg of rice from the field of rươi costs 35,000 VND), bringing efficiency to the producer. In addition, each year, farmers also have an average income from harvesting rươi and clams of 100-150 million/ha/year.

At the conference, ALIAT Law Firm reported an overview of proposed options to obtain consensus on completing the application for registration of the "Duc Tho Rice Wine" certification trademark, such as: certification trademark sample; list of products and services; certification criteria and certification methods for product origin; certification criteria and certification methods for product varieties and quality; map of geographical areas of production areas...
Along with that, the delegates discussed and gave comments on each content, especially the logo design, the map of the geographical production area, the direction of sustainable development of the rice brand...
In the coming time, Duc Tho district will coordinate with the consulting unit to receive opinions and complete the comments of the delegates to provide documents and forms that are specific and suitable for the Duc Tho location for the certification mark "Duc Tho Rice", complete the dossier and send it to the Department of Science and Technology to submit to the Provincial People's Committee.
