Trieu Phong achieved many results in industrial development.

Identifying that the development of industry and handicrafts plays an important role in the development of the local economy, in 2012, Trieu Phong District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 08 "On the development of industry - handicrafts, trades and services until 2015, with a view to 2020". Also during this time, the district invested in building the Ai Tu Industrial Cluster of 11 hectares and the Dong Ai Tu Industrial Cluster of more than 34 hectares in Ai Tu town to meet the requirements of local industrial and handicraft development.

To create conditions for investors to operate effectively, closely following Resolution No. 08/2012 of the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee has effectively implemented policies on investment incentives, administrative reforms as well as promoted promotion and actively cooperated with investors to attract projects.

In addition, all levels from the province to the district have invested billions of dong in site clearance, traffic infrastructure, national power grid, construction of industrial clusters, points and craft villages in the locality. Industrial promotion and vocational training have also been promoted by Trieu Phong district, promptly meeting the human resource needs of factories and enterprises.

Along with that, Trieu Phong district also actively coordinates with provincial departments and branches to promote investment in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, and proactively coordinates with relevant units to effectively carry out site clearance to build infrastructure for transportation, national grid electricity, wastewater treatment, etc.

By mid-2020, Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park had 16 projects licensed for investment with a total registered capital of VND 726.69 billion, 9 enterprises started to build infrastructure and factories to put into operation soon; Ai Tu Industrial Park has 13 production facilities, creating jobs for more than 600 workers.

In addition to the two industrial parks mentioned above, Trieu Phong district also has many industrial parks and craft villages attracting more than 4,600 workers, contributing to the average annual growth rate of this sector in the period 2012-2021 reaching 13.29%. The industrial and handicraft production value of the district in 2020 reached 792,825 billion VND, the average annual growth rate in the period 2015-2020 increased by 15.5%, achieving the set plan.

In the period from 2020 to 2025, Trieu Phong district continues to develop industry - handicrafts, rural occupations associated with the general planning of new rural construction. Accordingly, Trieu Phong district plans to build Tay Trieu Phong Industrial Park, effectively manage and exploit Ai Tu Industrial Park, Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park, Thuong Trach and Linh Chieu vermicelli production industrial and craft villages, invest in completing the infrastructure of Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park (phase 2), gradually invest in the infrastructure of Trieu Lang commune's industrial and craft villages for processing fish sauce and shrimp paste, Ai Tu town's industrial and craft villages, continue to invest in building the infrastructure of industrial and handicraft production facilities, traditional occupations.

Notably, Trieu Phong district has promoted industrial development based on exploiting and promoting advantageous industries such as agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry, construction materials production, supporting industry, textiles, wood processing and consumer products from wood. Thereby improving the competitiveness of key products.

On the other hand, actively coordinate and create a favorable environment for enterprises to invest and implement projects in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone and Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park, while effectively implementing policies to support the development of industry - handicrafts and building, protecting and developing brands of typical local products and goods, products participating in the OCOP Program as well as focusing on bringing new technology to the fields of industry - handicrafts and agriculture to improve product quality and production capacity and efficiency.

With that approach, up to now, Trieu Phong district has about 1,200 enterprises and industrial production facilities - small-scale industries with key products such as fired bricks, sawing wood, civil carpentry, fine art carpentry, garment processing, rice husk firewood production... in operation for many years, creating jobs and stable income for thousands of local workers.

Ai Tu Industrial Park alone has 12 enterprises building production factories over the years related to industries such as sawing, processing planted forest wood, producing fine art wood, civil wood, Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park has attracted 22 enterprises to invest in projects with diverse industries such as garment, wood processing, fine art wood, civil wood, processing industrial boards with surface coating, mechanical processing, manufacturing electrical and electronic equipment...

Currently, the occupancy rate of this industrial park is nearly 100% with many stable and effective production and business projects, creating regular jobs for thousands of local workers with an average income of 5-7 million VND/person/month. The development of industry and handicrafts has contributed to increasing people's income from 52.5 million VND/person/year 2020 to 75 million VND/person/year 2024.

In the coming time, Trieu Phong district will continue to create a favorable environment for businesses to invest and implement projects in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone and industrial clusters and craft villages in the district, prioritizing the development of green industry, ecological industry, industry - handicrafts that create many jobs and have comparative advantages such as agricultural, forestry and fishery processing industry, textiles, supporting industry, construction materials production... to promote local economic development and increase people's income.
