This year's tournament was held at the Gross Kienitz Golf Club in Brandenburg, with the participation of more than 100 golfers from all over Germany and many international friends. In addition to members of the Vietnamese Embassy, there was also the participation of the Lao Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Maibua Xayavong, along with representatives from several embassies in Berlin such as Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea and many sponsors who are Vietnamese businesses and individuals living in Germany.
In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu Quang Minh expressed his pleasure in organizing the annual Vietnam-Germany Friendship Golf Tournament, which attracted many participants. According to Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, the Vietnam-Germany Golf Tournament is not only a friendship golf tournament, but it is also a truly useful playground to spread understanding and friendship between Vietnam and German friends, as well as with international friends. It is not only a playground for competition and self-conquering, but also a place to connect and strengthen solidarity.
The Ambassador affirmed that with the spirit of noble sportsmanship, surpassing oneself, solidarity, friendship and successful integration, the Vietnam-Germany Golf Tournament will become a symbol of friendship and a traditional event that many people look forward to.
To achieve the success of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Golf Tournament, in addition to the enthusiastic support of the Vietnamese Golf Association in Germany and Gross Kienitz Golf Club, Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, on behalf of the organizing committee, also sent thanks to the sponsors, including "Golf For All" - a large German corporation specializing in golf equipment.
In addition, there is the support of Vietnamese and German sponsors and businesses that have supported the Embassy in joint activities. The Ambassador hopes that in the coming time, sponsors and associations will continue to closely coordinate with the Embassy to create more useful playgrounds for the community.
After nearly a day of competition, even in heavy rain at times, the golfers still played their best and brought the tournament to great success.
In addition to the prizes for the best player (brutto prize), first, second and third prizes for the groups (netto prize) and technical prizes (longest drive, nearest to the pin), the organizers also awarded many prizes through a lucky draw, including a pair of round-trip air tickets from Vietnam to Germany on Vietnam Airlines.
