Number of newly registered businesses decreased by 32.6%

On April 15, information from the Department of Planning and Investment said that in the first 3 months of 2024, the whole province had 95 newly registered enterprises, down 32.6% over the same period in 2023; total registered capital was 385 billion VND. The cumulative number of enterprises in the province as of March 31, 2024 was 3,376 enterprises. The number of registered employees of newly established enterprises in the first 3 months of 2024 was 805 people.

Among the newly registered enterprises, there are 53 enterprises operating in the industrial - construction sector, 42 enterprises operating in the service sector. Localities with a large number of newly established enterprises include: Dong Ha City with 42 enterprises, Vinh Linh with 15 enterprises, Gio Linh with 11 enterprises, Trieu Phong with 8 enterprises.

Also in the first 3 months of the year, 48 affiliated units were established (including 11 branches, 30 representative offices, and 7 business locations).

Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of enterprises resuming operations increased by 33.9%; the number of affiliated units resuming operations decreased by 52.2%; the number of enterprises registering to temporarily suspend operations increased by 36.6%; the number of affiliated units temporarily suspending operations increased by 72%; the number of enterprises announcing that they would dissolve decreased by 26.1%; the number of affiliated units ceasing operations increased by 180%; the number of enterprises and affiliated units ceasing operations due to warnings, violations, and revocation of certificates and operating licenses decreased by 81.8%; the number of times enterprises registered changes increased by 39.4%.
