Will strictly handle the case of a teacher 'asking for a laptop from a parent'

On October 1, Mr. Vo Cao Long, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City officially provided information to the press regarding the incident of a teacher "asking for support to buy a laptop" that occurred at Chuong Duong Primary School.

According to Mr. Long, the leaders of the education sector in District 1 have agreed to resolutely handle cases of law violations (if any), not cover up violations and at the same time be open, transparent, and clarify public information. In addition, to ensure the best learning conditions for students, the Board of Directors of Chuong Duong Primary School agreed to assign Ms. Dinh Thi Kim Thoa, Vice Principal of Chuong Duong Primary School to replace Ms. H., who asked parents to support the purchase of laptops to be in charge of teaching students in grade 4/3 today.

Previously, Mr. Long said that the Board of Directors of Chuong Duong Primary School quickly established a working group including representatives of the Department of Education, Party Committee, School Board of Directors, School Union, and People's Inspectorate to meet with Ms. H. The Board of Directors of Chuong Duong Primary School requested Ms. H. to report and clarify the content related to her that is being posted on social networks, and submit it before 9:00 a.m. on October 3.

In addition, through the above incident, the People's Committee of District 1 assigned the Department of Finance and Planning, the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with relevant units to promptly advise on the inspection of revenue and expenditure at the beginning of the school year of schools in the area and monitor and share the content of educational institutions in the area to promptly remove difficulties and handle arising problems.

According to information from the school's Board of Directors, on the morning of October 1, 36/38 students of class 4/3 came to class to study. After the incident of the teacher asking for money to buy a laptop in the parents' group, many parents protested and let their children stay home from school. The children's return to school is the most positive and important sign.
