On the afternoon of February 29, the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup held a technical meeting with representatives of the teams, referee supervisors, match supervisors, security and medical forces to prepare for the qualifying round of the South Central and Central Highlands regions - the 2nd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup.

The qualifying round for the South Central and Central Highlands regions will take place from March 1 to March 7, 2024 at Nha Trang University Stadium with 6 participating teams: Nha Trang University, Khanh Hoa University, Nha Trang College of Tourism, Nha Trang College of Technology, Tay Nguyen University, and Da Lat University. The 6 teams are divided into 2 groups and compete in a round-robin format in each group to calculate points and rank. The top 2 teams from each group will compete in a play-off match for a place in the final round.

At the technical meeting, the representative of the Organizing Committee, Thanh Nien Newspaper, in coordination with the match supervisors, referees of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and partners serving security, medical services... disseminated the tournament's regulations and rules, answered professional questions as well as tournament organization.

According to Dr. Tran Doan Hung, Nha Trang University's grass field has a beautiful artificial turf surface and can accommodate thousands of fans, and has been the venue for several major tournaments in recent years.
From the experience of organizing major tournaments and close coordination with the Organizing Committee, the School has many advantages in preparing for this qualifying round of the 2nd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup.
"Regarding facilities, up to this point, preparations for the opening ceremony and matches have been almost completed. Necessary items to meet the technical requirements of the Organizing Committee have been renovated, and detailed plans have been made to ensure security and safety during the matches. Volunteers, including students and lecturers, have also been mobilized to support the organization and logistics, ensuring the tournament takes place smoothly and successfully," Dr. Tran Doan Hung shared.

Journalist Tran Quang Tuyen, member of the Organizing Committee, emphasized that the 2nd Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament - 2024 THACO Cup is much larger in scale and number than last year. Mr. Tuyen suggested that teams in the South Central and Central Highlands regions compete with a spirit of fair-play, avoid violence on the field, and promote football culture in line with the spirit of students and youth.

In particular, Mr. Tuyen emphasized the issue of honesty when teams register the list of players participating in the tournament, avoiding the situation where teams, for the sake of performance, recruit players who are not from the school to compete.
"This is an important and core issue. The Organizing Committee absolutely prohibits it to create a fair playing field for students. If the Organizing Committee discovers any case where a student from the school is not participating in the competition, that team will be disqualified. This is also the school's brand, not a matter of winning or losing on the field," said Mr. Tuyen.
Mr. Tuyen also added that this year the Organizing Committee will buy insurance for all players. "If an unfortunate injury occurs during the competition, the insurance will cover all treatment costs for the players," Mr. Tuyen added.
At the press conference, the questions of the participating teams were satisfactorily answered by the Organizing Committee, and they agreed on the spirit of fair play, contributing beautiful and impressive moves in the qualifying round of the South Central and Central Highlands regions.
