Ready for the opening day of Huong Tich Pagoda festival

With the active participation of all levels, sectors and units, up to now, the preparation work for the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival associated with the opening of the Ha Tinh tourism year 2024 has been basically completed, ready for the opening day.

Taking place annually at the beginning of the new year with many exciting cultural, sports and folk games activities, Huong Tich Pagoda Festival is a cultural event that many people in the province and visitors from all over the country look forward to. If in previous years, the festival was hosted by the province, in 2024, this part of the work will be carried out by Can Loc district, with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism guiding and coordinating the implementation of some parts of the work.

The entrance area to Huong Tich Pagoda tourist area has been brightly decorated to serve tourists attending the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival in 2024.

According to the plan, the festival will include two main events: the opening ceremony of Huong Tich Pagoda associated with the opening of the Ha Tinh tourism year 2024 taking place on the 6th day of the first lunar month of the year of Giap Thin (ie February 15, 2024) and the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara on the 18th day of the second lunar month (ie March 27, 2024). In particular, the opening ceremony will have many activities such as: special art programs; cultural and sports activities (open youth volleyball tournament, traditional wrestling, stick pushing, tug of war...); folk games: cockfighting, blindfolded duck catching...

To welcome and serve visitors during the opening ceremony as well as throughout the 2024 Huong Tich Pagoda festival season, Can Loc district has coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh to actively direct the implementation of preparation work.

Meritorious Artist Nguyen Thi Cam - Director of Ha Tinh Traditional Arts Theater (NTTT) said: "According to the direction of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as the request of Can Loc district, the provincial NTTT Theater is responsible for performing the art program in the opening ceremony of Huong Tich Pagoda. After developing the script, we have organized rehearsals. Up to now, the basic performances have been completed, ready for preliminary rehearsal before Lunar New Year and general rehearsal before the official performance on the opening day of the festival".

The script of the art program at the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival opening ceremony associated with the opening of the Ha Tinh tourism year 2024 has a duration of 30 minutes, with 6 performances praising the homeland, the country, celebrating the Party, celebrating Spring and Huong Tich Pagoda such as: "Spring festival - Sunlight of Huong Tich pagoda", "Spring through the region of Vi, Giam", "Ha Tinh, the land of phoenixes"...

According to the assignment of the People's Committee of Can Loc district, the District Culture - Communication Center undertakes and coordinates the implementation of tasks such as: strengthening propaganda with banners and slogans on the roads; organizing an expanded youth volleyball tournament; arranging points to promote OCOOP product brands, agricultural products, local trade booths and businesses in need... Currently, the unit has also deployed and is completing preparations such as: volleyball courts, decorating stores to promote products...

Staff of the Can Loc District Cultural - Communication Center installed a volleyball court column system at the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area Square, serving the men's volleyball tournament during the opening ceremony.

As the locality where the festival takes place, Thien Loc commune is responsible for the preparation work such as: organizing folk games including traditional wrestling, blindfolded pig catching, duck catching, tug of war... At the same time, coordinating with the Management Board of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area and the abbot of the pagoda to organize a contest of offering five-fruit trays to Buddha during the Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's birthday on the 18th day of the second lunar month.

Mr. Dang Anh Tuan - Chairman of Thien Loc Commune People's Committee said: "To organize folk games at the opening ceremony of Huong Tich Pagoda, we have directed and assigned organizations and unions to buy healthy and agile breeding animals such as ducks and pigs to take care of; directed villages to assign people to participate in tug of war and wrestling teams to actively practice. Regarding the fruit tray contest, the Commune Women's Union was assigned to preside over and assign women to prepare by practicing before the contest took place. In addition, as the locality where the festival takes place, we also strengthen propaganda to the people about the spirit of welcoming visitors from all directions, cultural and civilized behavior, and increasing environmental sanitation in residential areas and roads before and throughout the festival season...".

Workers complete the final steps of the OCOP product and local agricultural product introduction point at the entrance to the Huong Tich Pagoda tourist area square on the morning of February 2, 2024.

On the side of the Huong Tich Pagoda Tourism Management Board, preparations for the festival have also been deployed by the unit since the end of December 2023.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha - Head of Huong Tich Pagoda Tourist Area Management Board said: "Along with other units to renovate, clean the environment, prepare facilities such as playgrounds, we have also invested in renovating the landscape, creating many attractive highlight products to serve tourists. Currently, all the work has been completed".

Along with the levels, sectors, organizations and the management board of the tourist area, business units such as electric car services, cable cars, boat docks... have also reorganized their facilities and human resources to serve tourists during the festival season. In particular, Hong Linh Investment Development and Tourism Joint Stock Company has just maintained the cable car station system, and the electric car service unit has also added new vehicles to meet the needs of tourists.

A group of tourists from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City used the electric car service to visit Huong Tich Pagoda in mid-January 2024.

Mr. Le Cong Hong - Owner of Huong Tich Pagoda boat dock said: "To serve tourists, we have maintained boats, equipped them with equipment such as life jackets, life buoys... At the same time, we have placed markers and divided the lake to ensure safety when moving."

In addition to preparing facilities, to ensure security, order, traffic safety, food safety... during the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival, Can Loc district has also directed relevant units to regularly conduct inspections and urge proper implementation of regulations.

The boats have been maintained and refurbished and are ready to serve tourists at Huong Tich Pagoda wharf.

With the guidance and coordination of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the direction of the district, up to now, the preparations for the Huong Tich Pagoda Festival associated with the opening of the Ha Tinh Tourism Year 2024 have been synchronously deployed by the units and basically completed all tasks. We believe that this year's Huong Tich Pagoda Festival will continue to contribute to spreading more widely the beauty of the scenic spot and the cultural values ​​of the temple known as "Hoan Chau's most famous landscape".
