Ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show ( CES ) 2024, Samsung introduced the world's first transparent MicroLED display at the Samsung First Look event.
The new display uses transparent LEDs to display content. The manufacturer promises a technologically superior product that will make “the boundary between content and reality indistinguishable.”
Transparent displays are nothing new, and Samsung has been trying to improve them since the company first announced them in 2015.
Samsung's display is not only transparent, but also modular. It comes in a variety of sizes, giving users the option to customize the shape and size to their needs.
The technology behind Samsung's new transparent MicroLED display involves a complex manufacturing process that eliminates seams and light refraction, creating a display that's as thin and transparent as glass.
The highlights of the new product were presented by Samsung in a short video, demonstrating the superior capabilities of the new MicroLED display.
Currently, the new transparent MicroLED screen is still considered a luxury for the rich. The reason is because the price of Samsung's MicroLED TV is very high, currently priced at $ 150,000 for the 110-inch model.
Until significant cost-cutting solutions are implemented, this product will remain a dream and out of reach for the vast majority of ordinary consumers.
