Around the central areas of Ho Chi Minh City, it is not difficult to see alleys with bright spring colors, many miniature landscapes designed and decorated by the neighborhoods themselves at the alley entrances.

Recorded at alley 100 Tran Hung Dao (District 1), people and tourists are overwhelmed when passing by here by the grandeur and elaborateness of the "Tet space" in this alley.

Above is the national flag, below are designed many miniature landscapes with typical flowers such as apricot, peach, chrysanthemum, banh chung, banh tet, model watermelon, bamboo tables and chairs, red parallel sentences, dragon mascot... all creating a cozy and bustling Vietnamese Tet space from the alley to the doorstep of the house.

Mr. Huynh Van Quang (56 years old, resident of alley 100 Tran Hung Dao) and other households in the alley have been busy preparing for Tet decoration for many days. "People in the alley have come up with ideas and decorated together for many days, and have just completed it for more than a week now. Every year, when this time comes, the whole neighborhood is busy preparing to make a flower street. The alley has a more Tet atmosphere, the spring colors are filled from the alley to the house", Mr. Quang said.

Similarly, alley 153 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (District 1) "as scheduled", the whole neighborhood together decorated and created a Tet space at the beginning of the alley.

Locals here say that every year, as Tet approaches, people in the alley will gather to decorate and create miniature landscapes at the entrance of the alley. This allows people to pass by and have fun, and at the same time feel the Tet atmosphere earlier.

People also invested in creating many unique landscapes such as lotus ponds, banana gardens, wishing trees, and lanterns.

Mr. Hoang Dung (alley 174 Ban Co) said that every time Tet approaches, he and a few neighbors decorate. "Without much money to display real apricot and peach blossoms, I use dried trees and simple available materials to make apricot trees, attach fake flowers and flashing lights, which are easy to make and inexpensive. The important thing is to create more atmosphere for neighbors to celebrate Tet, feeling cozy when coming back to my alley," said Mr. Dung.

Foreign tourists enjoy taking pictures while passing through the eye-catching decorated alleys.

The characteristics of these "mini flower streets" are images of peach blossoms, apricot blossoms, banh chung and banh tet, and watermelon.

At alley number 10 Nguyen Trai street (District 1), the decorations, though simple, also signal the coming of a new year.
