Entering the afternoon session, selling pressure gradually appeared and increased more strongly towards the end of the session, causing the market to dip slightly below the reference level before recovering slightly.
At the end of the trading session on July 16, VN-Index increased by 1.36 points, equivalent to 0.11% to 1,281.18 points. The entire floor had 211 stocks increasing, 215 stocks decreasing, and 89 stocks remaining unchanged.
HNX-Index increased 0.07 points to 244.91 points. The entire floor had 87 stocks increasing, 80 stocks decreasing and 53 stocks remaining unchanged. UPCoM-Index increased 0.34 points to 98.26 points.
The group of "defensive" pharmaceutical stocks continued to rise. In addition to the 13 stocks that hit the ceiling in the morning session, this group also recorded 2 more stocks, DDN and DP1, in the afternoon session. In addition, the stocks CDP, DP3, DTG, TRA, DMC, CNC, DTP also increased by 4-6%.
The banking group is still dominated by green, notably BID, MBB, VCB, CTG, VPB, HDB, contributing a total of more than 3.2 points. In addition, BVB, STB, ACB, TPB, NAB, LPB, OCB, ABB, VAB also ended the session in green. The group only had a few red dots, namely SHB, EIB, NVB.
On the negative side, HVN led the market decline when it lost 1.3 points, ending the session at the floor price of VND31,250/share. Meanwhile, its rival VJC still increased by 1.25% to VND103,300/share.
The securities group witnessed differentiation, but at the end of the session, this code still lost 0.3%. On the downside, there were VND, SHS, MBS, VCI, VDS, ORS, FTS, BVS. On the contrary, the codes VIX, SSI, CTS, TVS, VFS, TVB ended the session in green.
