Ronaldo waved a water bottle at the cameraman and asked him to leave. The reporter then turned the camera to other players. The incident occurred while Ronaldo was talking to an Al Nassr member on the field. Not long before, Al Nassr ended their first match of the 2023-2024 season with a score of 0-0.

Al Nassr played Al Shabab just a day after a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan in Japan. Immediately after returning to Saudi Arabia, coach Luis Castro had to put many of his substitutes into the starting lineup. Ronaldo, Seko Fofana, Talisca and Alex Telles only came on in the second half.
Ronaldo left his mark with a 17-meter shot that hit the goalkeeper's hand. The Portuguese player also had a volley that scored against Al Shabab, but it was disallowed for offside.
The 0-0 draw with Al Shabab was the seventh consecutive match Ronaldo failed to score for Al Nassr. Before that, he failed to score in all six friendlies: a 2-0 win over Alverca, a 5-1 win over Farense, a 5-0 loss to Celta Vigo, a 4-1 loss to Benfica, a 0-0 draw with PSG and a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan.

The Al Nassr-Al Shabab match is part of the first round of Group C of the Arab Club Champions Cup. In the same group match, Egyptian team Zamalek defeated Tunisia's Monastir 4-0. Al Nassr will also face Monastir on July 31 and Zamalek on August 3. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarter-finals. The Arab Club Champions Cup features 16 Arab teams divided into four groups.
Al Nassr will kick off the 2023-2024 Saudi Pro League campaign on August 14 when they visit Al Ettifaq. Last season, Ronaldo and his teammates finished second behind Al Ittihad, despite scoring 14 goals in 16 games.
