Users can download nTrust starting today (July 30) to protect their phones and join the nTrust anti-fraud community right away.
On July 30, the National Cyber Security Association (NCA) launched nTrust anti-fraud software. This is a completely free application for smartphones, which helps detect signs of fraud by checking phone numbers, account numbers, website links and QR codes.
The software also supports the function of checking and scanning applications on the phone, detecting malware or fake software. Users can download the software from 2 popular application markets: Google Play for Android operating system and App Store for iOS operating system (iPhone).
nTrust is a non-profit software project, not using state budget, funding is mobilized from social sponsorship sources. This software was introduced on May 13 at the Cyber Fraud Prevention Workshop organized by NCA.
The newly released version has been updated and improved with features based on feedback from hundreds of volunteers who participated in the beta test in June 2024. This significantly improves the ability to scan for malware and optimizes the software's performance.
Mr. Vu Ngoc Son, Head of Research, Consulting, Technology Development and International Cooperation Department of NCA said: “Currently, the nTrust anti-fraud database has more than 1 million records, verified and synthesized from data sources of the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, State Bank and member cybersecurity organizations of NCA. We hope that after its launch, with the participation of the user community, this data set will increase rapidly in the near future”.
Users can download nTrust starting today to protect their phones and join the nTrust anti-fraud community. Accordingly, if they detect any signs of fraud, users can send reports of suspicious phone numbers, account numbers, links, and apps to the center through the built-in features on the software. These reports will be collected, verified, and updated for the entire nTrust user community.
nTrust anti-fraud software emphasizes privacy, allowing users to be fully proactive in controlling and selecting the information to check and report.
In particular, unlike foreign software with similar features on the market, the entire processing process related to checking for scam and annoying calls will only be performed on the phone, without sending any information to the server. Instructions for use and detailed information about the software can be viewed at https://nTrust.vn
In recent times, anti-fraud measures from regulatory agencies such as standardizing telecommunications subscribers, popularizing and guiding on personal data protection, and most recently requiring biometric authentication have gradually narrowed the scope of activities of fraudsters. However, experts also believe that online fraud will continue to have variations with new forms and technologies appearing. nTrust will contribute as an effective protective shield, supporting users to detect fraud risks early before transacting in cyberspace.
