(Fatherland) - On December 15th, the event "Launching the album "Roi nhu da ngo ngo" - The woman telling the story of Jazz Quynh Pham" will take place at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts.
"Roi nhu da ngo" is the first Jazz album in singer Quynh Pham's singing career after many years of nurturing the project. Although she studied classical piano, her passion for Jazz has always been simmering in Quynh Pham for many years.
The album includes 5 songs by musician Trinh Cong Son.
Few people know that, not only is Quynh Pham famous in the Jazz-loving audience community with her lyrical voice, she is also one of the pioneering artists who chose to sing Jazz in Vietnam in the 2000s. Jazz-loving audiences must still remember the image of the beautiful and individual female singer, who was associated with the Binh Minh Jazz Club for 10 years (from 2004-2014).
With her debut album and this comeback, she chose to perform 5 songs by musician Trinh Cong Son including Wet Eyes; I Lull You to Sleep; The Last One for a Love; Let's Love Each Other and Then Like a Stone of Innocence, in her own Jazz style, a bit liberal and a bit narrative, in the calm atmosphere coming from life experiences. On a minimalist and somewhat Vintage background music, Quynh Pham's voice, of a storyteller, slowly sips the artistic messages and life experiences of the singer, contemplating and cherishing love and life.
The album will be released on platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, NCT, ZING mp3, iTunes, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Source audio,..200+ platforms worldwide.
The program is scheduled to take place at 3:00 p.m. on December 15 at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts. During the album launch event, singer Quynh Pham will share and reveal interesting things about the album and perform songs from the album "Roi nhu da ngo".
Introducing Quynh Pham
Quynh Pham was born into a musical family in Thanh Hoa. She graduated with a major in Classical Piano and Jazz Keyboard from the Military University of Culture and Arts and a major in Business Administration from the National Economics University.
After graduating, she worked as an editor and content producer for domestic media companies. In 2002, she was awarded the Gold Medal at the General Department of Logistics Arts Festival while working at Agtex Company (General Department of Logistics).
From 2004-2014, she was a regular vocalist at Binh Minh Jazz Club. In 2019, with the desire to support young jazz artists, she founded Hanoi Blues Note, a music production, performance and event organization company. To date, she has been active in the music industry for 24 years.
"Although she did not study vocal music formally, with the advantage of being a classical pianist and later a jazz keyboardist, Quynh Pham left an impression on the audience through her ability to convey emotions in a natural and intimate way. Her voice has the seductive timbre of an experienced woman with a warm soprano type and strong, impressive high notes. The flexibility in her artistic style is demonstrated through typical jazz covers such as Pho ngheo, Hat theo nguoi di tren pho, Gui nguoi em gai, Somewhere over the rainbown, Willow weep for me, Summertime, Fly me to the moon, All of me,..."
