Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province suddenly turned down sharply compared to yesterday, down 2,000 VND/kg, currently the pepper purchase price in this locality is at 155,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau also decreased by 2,000 VND compared to yesterday, currently pepper is purchased at 155,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in Binh Phuoc also decreased by 2,000 VND/kg, currently the pepper purchase price in this locality is also at 155,000 VND/kg.

Particularly, pepper prices in Dak Nong and Dak Lak have the highest decrease, with 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently the pepper purchasing price in these two localities is at 156,000 VND/kg.

The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) said that Vietnam has certain advantages as Vietnamese pepper cannot compete with American farmers or businesses because the US cannot produce pepper due to unsuitable natural conditions.

Experts say the global pepper market is facing challenges due to declining output in major producing countries such as Indonesia and India, climate change, disease and rising input costs.

According to VPSA, from now until the end of the year, supply and demand are still the most important factors. Whether the US imposes tariffs or not, the global market is still in short supply, which will support pepper prices to increase again in the medium and long term.
