The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 8C from Thien Cam town to National Highway 1 (Cam Xuyen district) and the intersection of National Highway 8A in Son Long commune to the intersection of Ho Chi Minh road (Son Trung commune, Huong Son district) has a total length of 27.7km. The project is invested by the Ha Tinh Department of Transport with a capital of nearly 1,100 billion VND. |
Deployed since October 2023, after nearly 1 year of construction, the project is still in disarray due to land acquisition problems. In addition, the route is also entangled with medium and low voltage power lines; clean water pipeline system, making construction of the units extremely difficult. |
Mr. Luong Tien Thanh - an officer of the Ha Tinh Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the contractors have basically completed the production of precast components (longitudinal drainage ditches, horizontal culverts); filled the soil; installed longitudinal ditches, horizontal culverts and basically constructed the Dun and Gon bridges... |
"The project has only reached more than 30% because there are still 160/900 households with unfinished land. The unit is coordinating with the locality to soon hand over the land to the construction units according to the set schedule," said Mr. Thanh. |
The site is still stuck, forcing the contractor to jump around in construction. The soil system is weathered and the drainage ditches are lying in disarray. |
At this time, at the construction site, the contractor has arranged many construction equipment and machinery to complete the roadbed embankment at the road expansion locations before the rainy season. |
According to the contractors, because the land has not been handed over yet, construction cannot be carried out at the same time, but instead, machinery and workers will be deployed wherever land is available. In the picture, the "hopping" construction also causes difficulties for people traveling on the route. |
The structure lies scattered with weathered soil and dust. |
The investor representative said that the amount of fill soil for the project is very scarce. The estimated soil mines near the project site are mostly filled with rocks, forcing the construction units to be proactive and accept to take fill soil from further locations. |
The investor is urging contractors to complete construction at locations with available land to meet the set schedule before the flood season. Meanwhile, the People's Committee of Cam Xuyen district said it has completed 100% of the inventory of households affected by the project. The locality is focusing on determining the origin and time of land use and property use to have a basis for pricing, approving and paying appropriate compensation costs, and soon having a clean land for the project. |
