Lesson 1: All for the front line
50 years ago, with the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975, the Vietnamese people successfully ended the resistance war against the US to save the country; completed the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country. That victory stemmed from many factors, among which, Hanoi's material contribution to the nation's total victory was of great significance.
Tons of goods from Hanoi, especially civilian goods, reaching the hands of every citizen in the liberated areas further demonstrated the deep affection of the people of the North towards their compatriots in the South, encouraging the people of the South to make more efforts in the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975.
Thanks to abundant material and logistics from the North, especially from beloved Hanoi, our army fought and won many victories, successively liberating the Central, South Central, and Southeastern provinces, advancing to Saigon, achieving resounding victories in the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, completely liberating the South, and unifying the country.
Hanoi Craft Villages: Recognition for Conservation and Sustainable Development
According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Hanoi city has just awarded the decision to recognize 14 titles of craft villages, traditional craft villages and traditional occupations in 2024. Thus, up to now, 337 villages have been recognized by the City People's Committee with the titles.
In addition to support from the city, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that with recognized craft villages, localities need to continue to maintain, honor, and link with product development of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program to form craft village tourism destinations and experiential tourism.
Thousands of households in My Duc are "thirsty" for clean water.
The lack of domestic water is becoming a concern for thousands of households in My Duc district, directly affecting their lives and reducing the quality of the new rural development program. As summer approaches, the need to speed up the completion of the clean water supply system here becomes even more urgent.
Talking to reporters from Hanoi Moi Newspaper, local people could not help but worry that the title of “new rural area” does not truly reflect the actual living conditions, especially the criteria of clean water for daily life. “It is easy to manage without rice, but without water for drinking and bathing, it is difficult in every way…”, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Goc Bang village (An Phu commune) shared.
Deputy Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department of My Duc District, Le Nghiem Huan, said that the city has approved two enterprises to invest in the construction of a centralized clean water supply project in the district. Up to now, the two enterprises have completed the project and are installing water supply networks in the communes of Huong Son, Van Tin, Dai Hung, Hung Tien and Dai Nghia town. The investors are continuing to mobilize resources to construct the supply system for the remaining 15 communes.
