The program is organized by the Provincial People's Committee in coordination with the State Records and Archives Department to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Also attending the program were Mr. Pham Ngoc Hung - Deputy Director of the National Archives Center II and representatives of the Historical Archives Centers of the provinces: Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak , Dak Nong. Notably, the program had the presence of 11 B-going cadres and relatives of 22 B-going cadres living in the province.
Preserving and spreading historical values
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich affirmed: The exhibition is an opportunity to review the heroic history through the archives and sacred relics preserved at the National Archives Center. The relics and photos in the files are not only personal images but also historical moments, recording the portraits of people who lived and contributed during the most difficult times of the nation. The Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee commented: "The exhibition of documents, materials, images, relics, and records is a way for us to preserve precious heritage, while spreading the message of gratitude and responsibility to preserve those historical values".
According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the return of 33 files and relics to cadres and relatives of cadres who went to B is a humane gesture, expressing the deep gratitude of the Party, State and People for their silent contributions. Each memento, file and photo given away is a memory that is rekindled, a flame of tradition that is lit, so that today's and future generations will forever remember the contributions of previous generations.

“The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is an opportunity for us to continue to promote the strength of great solidarity, turning gratitude into motivation for practical actions. I call on all cadres, party members and people of the province to join hands to take care of the families of martyrs and those with meritorious services; preserve and spread historical values; and at the same time strive to build our homeland to be more civilized and prosperous,” the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.
Holding his B-list file in his hand more than half a century after sending it to the Government Unification Committee to go to the South to fight, Mr. Dinh HNan (Dak Doa town) emotionally said: "I will bring it back and keep it carefully so that my descendants can understand the contributions of their ancestors to the revolution, and from there strive to study and work to build their homeland and country."

Talking about the reason for bringing his entire family of 4 generations to the ceremony to receive the B-listing documents of his father, Mr. Do Nhu (born in 1924), Mr. Do Xuan Quy - Chairman of the Pleiku City Labor Federation - said: "I brought my mother, wife, children and grandchildren here so that everyone can understand the tradition of their ancestors, so that their descendants can continue to build and protect the Vietnamese Fatherland to be more and more eternal and sustainable. It is a great pride and emotion to receive my father's documents and mementos, to see again the dear and familiar handwriting of my father from years ago. All of this makes my heart overflow with strong emotions. I hope that all the cadres who went to B as well as their relatives who have not received their documents in this batch will receive them in the next batches".
More pride in the country's history
After the ceremony of returning the B-going documents, the delegates, officials and relatives of the officials who went to B visited the exhibition of archival documents with the theme: "50 years of independence and national reunification: Rising up in the basalt land". The exhibition took place from April 17 to 30, 2025 with 2 parts of content: "Going through the smoke and fire of war" and "Rising among the great forest". More than 300 documents, materials, images and relics introduced to the public about the resistance and nation-building process of the Gia Lai army and people from after the Geneva Agreement in 1954 was signed until the day of the liberation of the South and national reunification; documents and images about the activities of the Gia Lai Party Committee and government in leading the people to build their homeland; typical achievements in 50 years of socio -economic development of the province...
Not only does the exhibition have documentary value with precious artifacts bearing the burning desire for a peaceful country such as letters and souvenirs of cadres who went to B, it also attracts visitors by the elaborateness and creativity in the display and decoration. That is the bicycle, the folder with the beloved S-shape of the country, the "memory boxes" containing vivid stories of a time's history... beautifully and solemnly displayed in a cool green space.
Many viewers were also surprised by the appearance of a model of the M41 tank number 021 with a scale close to the original, restored by officers and soldiers of the 273rd Tank Brigade (34th Corps) in collaboration with the Provincial Historical Archives Center. During the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, the crew of tank 021 fought bravely, burning 7 enemy armored vehicles, contributing to the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. With this particularly outstanding feat, on December 16, 2014, the President signed a decision to honor the crew of tank 021 with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Visiting the exhibition with her friends, La Thi Bao Ngoc (class 10B5, Le Loi High School, Pleiku City) shared her feelings of nostalgia when looking at the records and relics of the B-class cadres, which made her even more proud of the country's history. "I want to tell my friends that today, we are living in a peaceful, happy and joyful country, so we should not forget the dedication of our ancestors, those who fought bravely for us to have today" - Ngoc shared.
The happiest thing to be present in the space filled with nostalgia and gratitude are the cadres who went to B that day. Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien (Pleiku City) recited a few self-composed verses to express her feelings after 50 years of liberating the South and unifying the country: "My comrades/After going through the battles, sitting together/Time has turned their hair white/Still remembering the song of the march".
Nothing is forgotten, especially the selfless dedication of a brave generation in the struggle for national liberation, creating the spring of the country.
