Regarding the issue of long-standing salary arrears at Quang Nam Medical College, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province agreed to freeze the debt for the school's training expenses that did not meet the target from 2020 and earlier, an amount of more than 15.5 billion VND.

At the same time, temporarily postpone the budget deduction of Quang Nam Medical College from 2023-2025 (1.9 billion VND per year) to have funds to pay salaries for staff, lecturers and workers.

As reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper , on December 14, 2023, 17 officers and lecturers of Quang Nam Medical College sent a notice of collective resignation to the school's leaders.

17 staff and lecturers of the Nursing and Basic Health Departments said they would stop working from December 18, 2023 until the school resolved the salary and allowance regime. After that, after discussions at meetings, the leave period was extended to December 31, 2023.

According to the lecturers, the school has not paid salaries and allowances for 6 months, from July 2023 to present. The staff and lecturers still try to go to class because they do not want to affect the students' studies. However, due to the long unpaid salary period, the lives of many staff and lecturers are difficult, so they cannot continue working.

Up to now, Quang Nam Medical College owes 6 months of salary to 114 employees, with a total amount of more than 5.7 billion VND. In addition, this unit has been late in paying insurance for many months.
